The Classic Desert Aire Hotel

The kitchen closed half an hour before the end of breakfast, and the waiter was very unpleasant.

Very pleased with our stay Room and accommodations were clean and comfortable. Our 1st time at Drsert Aire, I would not hesitate to stay again. I would suggest getting your room away from the highway. We live away from major traffic and noticed the traffic noise, but it wasn't so loud we couldn't get to sleep. Front desk very friendly and helpful, our breakfast tasty. Thanks for a very pleasant stay 😊 We also enjoyed the rain

This is a beautifully renovated hotel. Artful, super-clean. Even shower was well designed to deliver water without need to figure out heat level. Lovely hand crafted wood furniture. Great breakfast.

A little work left on concrete when this aging hotel was rebuilt.

The curtains didn’t block any light. Bright lights through the bathroom. Walls paper thin, heard neighbors tv blaring all night. Pool not open.

Great location close to the White Sands NP. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. They offered a whole menu for breakfast with a lot of choices and the breakfast was great.

The towels were damp so we had to request new ones, the phone to call the reception was not working and the water from the bathroom sink smelled like sewage so we had to bring bottles of water to brush our teeth.

It was late at night and I needed a place to stay. I read reviews and called the chain hotels and then I saw a review about the Classic Desert Aire. It was a good review and the person stated they would go to the Classic DA again. I called and there was availability so I drove to the hotel and looked at the area and the condition of the building. The area was good, within walking distance of a number of restaurants. The building was older but it looked like it was in good repair and had plenty of well lit parking. I felt safe there so I took the room and the young man at the front desk was understanding and courteous. My room was was very clean - especially the bathroom. The queen bed was very comfortable and everything worked - TV, Microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer and all plumbing. There was even a jetted tub but I did not use it. There was a train that went through the area late at night or early morning but it would affect all the hotels in the area so I cannot count that against the Classic. I also travel with ear plugs and a sleep mask so it never bothered me. The next morning I had an excellent, free breakfast at the hotel restaurant with a menu specifically for guests. You could also order off the public menu for an additional charge. There is a "gift" shop in the lobby but it's large enough to be classified as a store. It had some very nice local art work. There was a pool on the property which I did not use. This hotel would also work nicely as a base camp for exploring the Cloudcroft area. Not only would I go to the Classic DA Hotel again, it would be my first choice in Alamogordo!
