Motel 6-Grand Rivers, KY

Clean, very quiet, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, beautiful bathroom, separate additional sink in room, large room with 2 desks, strong wifi, new a/c unit, excellent ample parking. The front desk gentleman was very friendly and helpful. He noticed we had bicycles with us and told us about 3 different bikes paths accessible right there at the hotel. He also brought the elderly guests across the hall a shower chair, above and beyond on both kindnesses, kudos. They sell pizza and microwaveable food in the lobby as there’s nothing close by for food. Rubber shower mat in room, very clean.

1)Shower floor is incredibly slippery tile, the rubber bathmat in room was appreciated. But when I was getting in, I put my hand on the safety rail inside shower, just touched it and it came down, just fell out of the wall. Really scary and very dangerous, especially with that slippery tile. Scared me so bad. Thank goodness I hadn’t put my weight on it and depended on it, I just started to touch it. Turns out it was only held in with one loose screw, it wiggled. The other end, still attached to the wall, had the same loose single screw. When I mentioned it to the 2 men at the front desk at checkout, one just looked at me and the other one actually laughed out loud. I hope the elderly couple across the hall, who required the shower seat, didn’t have the same issue. See photos for handrail. 2) Found frozen food in the freezer in our room 3) This hotel doesn’t offer breakfast, other HoJo’s do 4) The external door to our building was never fully latched during our stay, just slightly ajar you could open it without the key

Location is very convenient to the mountain bike trail I had an event at.

Was put in a smoking room (I don’t smoke) which smelled. The refrigerator did not work ( happen the previous time I stayed there too). Was told by the clerk that Booking.com booked me in a smoking room, but that was not true.

Ck and staff were very helpful

Management informed me there were no bedspreads or blankets I asked why and he informed me that they hadn't been washed. if I needed shampoo I would have to get it at front desk. The first room the lights didn't work and the tv didn't either. 2nd rm falling apart, Smoke D. hanging and ceiling falling down 3rd rm ok
