Giotto Park Hotel

The hotel staff was very helpful to make our stay better and provided us with tips on where to go. Even though, the view from the hotel is beautiful, the drive up to the hotel could be challenging for non-European drivers. However, given the cost of the hotel, it is well worth it.

The hotel is a grand old building with large rooms and high ceilings, set in large gardens and therefore peaceful. Fittings (eg in the bathroom) were all modern and the whole place was spotlessly clean. It is family run and everyone was friendly and helpful even though their English was limited and our Italian is non-existent. There's a useful collection of dictionaries on reception! We didn't have the half board option as there was only one menu choice. Breakfast was basic but adequate (tea, coffee, fresh rolls, jam, cake). However we paid a very reasonable price for the room and thought it was good value for money overall. Bivigliano is a quiet place with just one other hotel/restaurant (closed in April when we were there) and a pizzeria just outside the village which we ate at and were happy with.

My daughter & I stayed here in March/April 2013, and both the hotel and the surrounding scenery are beautiful. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Everything worked perfectly (tv, shower, lights,...). The host speaks English well and was incredibly helpful in getting us to and around Florence, Pisa, and Cinque Terre. If you have a car, this is only 15-20 minutes from historic Florence (Firenze), 1:20 minutes from Pisa, and about 2 hours from Cinque Terre, and there's an excellent restaurant just a couple of minutes from the hotel. We stayed in a 4-star hotel in Rome and a 3-star hotel in Assisi, and Giotto Park Hotel was far and away our favorite in all 3 categories: room size, comfort, and beauty. As we drove up the winding road to get there, we actually pulled over to take pictures of the scenery. it's that pretty. My only warning would be: if you drive there, use a GPS or get detailed instructions. It's very easy to get to once you know how to get there, but using directions I got on Google Maps, we had to stop about 5 times to get help. Find Bolognese road in Florence and head north, and you should be able to find the hotel fairly easily.

My daughter & I stayed here for 3 nights in April, 2013 and absolutely loved it. We stayed in two other hotels (a 4-star & a 3-star hotel) while in Italy, and this one was the best. Not only is the hotel pretty, comfortable, and clean, but the scenery on the way to it is gorgeous. We drove into Florence 3 times, and it only takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the historic portion of Florence by car. I'm not sure how long by bus. The female hostess/owner doesn't speak much English, but the younger male host speaks English fairly well and was very helpful in getting us to free parking in Florence and to Pisa & Riomaggiore. He's exactly what I hope for when staying at a local hotel or B&B, because he's very knowledgeable about the area and very willing to help if you ask for it. I printed directions from Google Maps and got lost a few times trying to find Giotto Park Hotel. I'd say borrow or rent a GPS if you're driving to it; they have the coordinates on their website. Fortunately every Italian we asked for help and/or directions was very accommodating even if they didn't speak English. Everything worked perfectly (tv, shower, sink, lights,...). They have wi-fi, but it doesn't work with an iPad or iPhone. It was a usb adapter for a pc. That forced us to find free wi-fi in places like McDonald's. Other than that, the stay was perfect, and we'd stay there in a heartbeat if we went back to Italy.

A beautiful Italian Villia in the hills of Tuscany surrounded by trees, a cool breeze extra large rooms and a staff that speaks English ,French and Italian what more could you ask for, My wife and I went there to see Florence and go to the MotoGP of Italy in Mugello This hotel is in the perfect location 8 miles out of the crazyness of Florence just drive down the hill and your in Florence, Drive 8 miles down the other side of the hill and your at Mugello and the MotoGP.

Everything is great about this hotel, its best for couples and families even good for older people... The staff are fantastic

My husband and I stayed here during MotoGP Mugello 2012. The place is lovely and quiet. The hotel offers ample parking. The food is very good and quite a bargain. The proprietors Camillo and Claudia were so accommodating, helpful and pleasant. There's a small grocery, a pharmacy and a fruit store right across the street. We hiked up to Mont Senario (allow half a day: the walk up from Giotto Park is about an hour) and it was extraordinary. We had one or two mosquitoes in our room during the five days, but this seems to happen to me everywhere :) A great restaurant down in Vaglia is Trattoria Pizzeria Ballini. Enjoy your stay!! This place was a dream come true. People is sweet and friendly. I went with my teenager son and daughter and we had a wonderful time.

Nice place and helpful staff,- Renovated hotel. Nicely situated in the mountains. Beautiful surrondings. Possibility to order meals in the restaurant.
