The Blu Hotel Blue Ash Cincinnati, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The breakfast was more than adequate. However, sugar-free syrup for the waffles would have been appreciated.

The mandatory $50.00 security deposit that was added to my credit card account was not included anywhere on the receipt that I received when we checked out.

The lobby is nice but the rooms, TV and bathrooms all need a make over and the beds were hard as a rock none of slept that night.

I would give this hotel a 5 star but because of cleanliness I have to lower the stars. The staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast bar was well stocked, clean and organized and the attendant was very nice and accommodating. The decor of the hotel was interesting. We believe a New Orleans style. The room was spacious but there were stains on the couch, the curtain shears were ripped, the shade was falling down so I fixed it with two safety pins, the ice bucket and bathroom tray had stains and gunk on them and the coffee maker was so dirty I would not use it. The bed comforter had dry blood spots on the end and the corners of the room had long unattended dust gatherings. The lighting was very dem and it would have been okay but the not in the bathroom. It was difficult to see to do your hair and makeup. The towels were wonderful and absorbent and soft and the bed and pillow were very comfortable. However the air conditioning was close to the bed so we needed to put up a barricade of blankets to keep the cold air from blowing on us in the night. The staff appeared to be great about keeping the hallway and lobby noice quiet after 11pm. Which we appreciated. The hotel is easy to get to and convenient to many restaurants and area activities.
