The view, location & gym across the road were all great.

No air conditioning in room 520. I was not told this when we checked in. Rang reception that afternoon, was told that on the 5th floor some air conditioners needed maintenance. Was told we could use the fan or open the window. It was uncomfortably hot. As some rooms have air conditioning & ours did not, we felt ripped off as we were paying for a room with this feature. Also the bathroom floor drain smelled of sewage. I emailed the general manager of these issues. We stayed 3 nights.

Great location but very dated facilities and super-unfriendly staff. Took 2 requests and until 4pm to get my room serviced which seemed to consist of tucking in sheets and folding towels -no cleaning. Good service in the bar and restaurant but food only average. Overall probably ok value for money but would never go back.

Lovely clean and large room with a great ocean view. Good location for access to waterfront, wandering along the beach and cafes etc. Friendly and efficient staff. Thank you. Would highly recommend. Napier has Art Deco buildings but some are looking a little tired.
