The Cypress Mercure Hotel Nagoya

5-10min walk from meitetsu and JR nagoya staion. just 1-2min walk from subway station (no.1 exit). room is big enough for 2 big suitcase

We had a delightful three-night stay at the Mercure Nagoya Cypress, which truly exceeded our expectations. Upon arriving earlier than the standard check-in time, we were pleasantly surprised and deeply grateful when the staff allowed us to check in immediately. This gesture was particularly comforting after our long journey by Shinkansen, and early check-in is not commonly found in many hotels, especially in Japan. For those traveling by train, this hotel is ideally located just a 10-minute walk from the station. Make sure to use the "Sakura-dori side" exit for the easiest access. The location is a significant advantage, offering not only convenience but also a plethora of dining options. The station itself houses numerous restaurants, and nearby, the Aeon Mall provides even more choices, including a supermarket for any additional needs. The room we stayed in was impeccably clean with a comfortable size, fitting for a relaxing stay. While the hotel might show its age when compared to newer Mercure properties around the world, everything was in good working order, which was more than satisfactory for us. Given its excellent location, the warm hospitality of the staff, and the functional, clean accommodations, we would not hesitate to choose Mercure Nagoya Cypress for our next visit to Nagoya. It's a stay that combines convenience with comfort, making it a top recommendation for travelers.

名古屋駅から程近いのでホテルの駐車場に車を入れてから夕食に徒歩で出掛けられるので、お酒も気兼ねなく飲めて良かった。 ツインの部屋に泊まったが、小学3年生の娘と夫婦で十分な広さで快適に過ごせた。 駐車場は別途¥1,500で24時間何度でも出し入れ自由。ただし機械式駐車場で、入出庫時にホテルフロントスタッフに対応したもらう必要があり、何度も出し入れするのは少々面倒。

We love staying in this hotel as it is so close to the Nagoya station and the malls . Very convenient. Great staff and nice rooms . Rooms are big and comfortable and clean Many great restaurants around the area . Highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back .

The rooms were spacious and were abled to get connecting rooms Location is perfect as it's very close to the station and Lawson's is right across the street. Staff at the reception were helpful when needed Finally they have the luggage transfer service available

The side table was dusty as long as we were staying there The hair combs are found at the reception, they could just add one in the room for easier access when needed The view wasn't nice at all

I chose this hotel because it was close to the railway station, just 10 mins walk. But we found other good things. The bar had an unusual but pleasant ambience, with a British hunting theme (at least that’s how I saw it). The room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was perfect. The other good thing was the variety of food Japanese eating places nearby. Staff were helpful and friendly..

Booked 2 rooms because the system didn’t allow me to book a large room for my family of five. Hotel was kind enough to give us a connecting room so we could all hang out in the same space. Rooms are comfortable, but hotel’s age does show a bit in the decor, walls, furniture. But still comfy. The walking distance to Nagoya JR station, Takashimaya and the many shops made it really convenient. Loved that there’s a Lawson just across the road so we ate onigiri for breakfast before our road trips. The fried famous fried chicken place opposite was also great for suppers! We wld recommend this hotel still!

The hotel staff spoke halting English so communication was quite difficult, so we did not engage them as much in the end and just tried to figure things out ourselves. Lobby is a little dark and often deserted but we don’t hang out there much anyway. The hotel’s distance to JR, food options, shopping made up for these cons.

At some point within the 2 hotels, we stayed at (Tokyo & Nagoya) cleaning staff at one of the hotels stole $600 from us. No one has "found" the money, and I've filed a police report. Obviously, it's our fault for trusting that they wouldn't steal, but using this as to reiterate for travelers. ALWAYS be careful with your belongings.
