Hotel Conterie

I really liked the location. In the morning and evening Murano is very tranquil.

I had travelled all day. When I arrived there was no one in Reception. Someone came but was aloof and business-like rather than friendly and welcoming. The room was dreary.

Location, authentic, cost

Unprofessional and rude staff. Hotel denied drinking water, was told to go to the supermarket. Very annoying knocking on the door multiple times during the day, checkout at 10:00 and very pushy.

The hotel is located close to a Vaporetto station in Murano.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences in my life. We were placed in a room on the topfloor, which looked promising when we came in: not too small and quietly located. But this all changed on when we started using the room. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were flat and hard. We asked for an extra pillow but this made no difference. Our bodies hurt from sleeping int his bed. Then, the room was about 30 degrees when we came in the first night after dinner, while the temparature outside was about 18 degrees. We wanted to use the airconditioning to make the temparature more comfortable, but it was not working. The hotel manager told us the airco only works when it is warmer outside, but this is not how an airco works (or should work). We tried opening the two windows that are situated in the roof for some fresh air. On the first night, it was raining quite heavily and our bed got soaked, as the bed is right beneath the windows. On the second night, we only opened one window, and within 30 minutes, the rooms was filled with mosquitos. As a result, we didn't get sleep at all, which was challenging with the long days at the biennale. Then there was the bathroom. It took about 20 mins for the shower to get luke warm and there was no water pressure. I called the manager, he said he would fix it. But the situation stayed the same and on the end of day three, almost no water came out of the shower. If water did some out, it rarely became warm. I called the reception, but no answer. With no sleep and barely any water to shower, this was the most exhausting three days of travelling. If this would have been a hotel in say South-East Asia for say 30 eur per night, I would have maybe understood. But this was a hotel in Venice for a whopping 190+ euro per night. It is a shameful price to ask for this room. The staff did nothing to help and showed no sign of care. I am never ever coming back here.

le petit déjeuné pas du tout copieux pas beaucoup de choix à part les viennoiserie pour ceux qui en mange je suis plutôt salé

I loved it’s quiet location and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I also felt it was good value and the breakfast was good.

The shower was not always hot but we managed. It would have been nice to have a kettle so we could have made hot drinks.
