The Great House Inn

The property itself has very good. Good location for walking to very good restaurants, the marine terminal, downtown and other attractions. Unfortunately they are building two large hotels or condos across the street, with construction almost around the clock - and sure to block the view. Our room was in the very front of the hotel, so we also heard lots of coming and going around the property, including property workers. Would likely stay again, but after the construction work is done.

Bathroom floors were pretty gross

A bit removed from things going on, but it was exactly what we needed on our first travel day into Belize. Good place to chill.

Attractive, historic building. Lovely room with a nice verandah to sit outside. Good central location. Breakfast ok but a little over priced. Friendly, helpful staff.

The Great House is in a great location. It is an easy walk to restaurants and bars, as well as the water taxi terminal. There is a bit of construction right now, which is a bit noisy, but that won’t last forever. The staff was very helpful with answering questions and arranging taxis. We enjoyed the peaceful pool area, as well. This is a great place to stay in Belize City! We have stayed here 4 times now and highly recommend it.

Spacious, air-conditioned rooms. Convenient location, close to water taxis.

I stayed one night during my visit. The location is great … right by the sea. I hope the owners consider a full renovation to update the property fixtures and furnishings. Keep the property style if they wish but it’s time for an update. The staff was great and the price was acceptable.
