Pittsburgh Marriott North

Property was nice but dated. I was surprised there was no free coffee in the morning. There is a Starbucks kiosk but I paid over ten dollars for two medium coffees. There is a restaurant available for breakfast. There are no free amenities in terms of food or drink. There is a lounge advertised and it was open our first evening but closed the following evening. Check-in was very smooth and there is plenty of parking available within a short distance from the entrance. There was no service done to our room in the two days we spent there. The smell of fragrance-masked cleaning solution was extremely strong.

I reached hotel 11 PM and hotel didn’t have a room for me. Before arriving at the hotel I checked in as well. Other than me there were 6 other guests without a room. This hotel should be banned from business in US. It can happen in a third world country but in USA. This was by far my worst hotel experience.

Very pricy room for no microwave. I don't remember a time I had no microwave. There were no drawers by the beds. Only 2 drawers under the hangers. The mini fridge and tiny coffee maker were shoved in a closet next to the hangers and drawers. Just a drab little room with no extras. Marriott, you can't seem to keep up.

We stayed for one night. The rooms were clean and in great shape. My one beef is with hotels that switch the Hot and Cold of their showers. When you look on the shower handle it tells you in which direction to move the handle for the shower. It's the reverse which is annoying as you stand there with the cold water spraying on you. *shrug* First World problems. :)

I stayed in a king room that appeared to be recently updated from the last time I stayed at this hotel. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and have no complaints from my stay this hotel does have an executive lounge for those that have status with Marriott. If arriving from the turnpike, it can be a little tricky navigating the various exits. Pay close attention to your GPS.

The continental breakfast is actually $22 per person and the waitress was so offended that we decided against it. She actually made a comment like "you know I can hear you, right?" when my husband and I were deciding to go somewhere else to eat. We didn't really appreciate that and thought it was rude.

After staying in cranberry at least once or twice a year at a different property, and as a retired travel consultant, I found the Pittsburgh Marriott North refreshing and friendly. What a surprise to find , upon our arrival a bit before dinner, a wonderful musician playing in the hotel bar. A sophisticated venue with great wine and a small but eclectic dinner menu. Our room was comfortable and despite the fact that it was quite close to the freeways, there was a nearby nature walk through trees and ponds for my morning walk. Buffet breakfast had many diverse offerings
