Un Safari Camp avec un air d'aventure "Out of Africa". Des tentes tout confort dans un paysage sauvage. La faune à quelques mètres. Des repas gourmets très bien cuisinés par la cheffe. Un service convivial.

Fantastisch! Het echte Afrika gevoel. De comfort in de tent, goed bed, heerlijk dekbed, warme kruik en water. De badkamer. Het buiten zitten. Het lieve, bescheiden personeel die heerlijk kookt en zorgt dat alles in de puntjes geregeld is. Fantastisch Crystal en mr T die ons verblijf tot het mooist maakten. Thanks en see you next time❤️

Britisches Frühstück. Dinner wurde im Halbdunkel serviert. Keine Auswahlmöglichkeit und letztlich konnte man nicht erkennen, was einem da vorgesetzt wurde. Aber es war immer reichlich.

Eine sehr schlichte, völlig überbewertete Lodge. Die Bäder haben nichts mit Komfort zu tun. Die Gastgeber sind ständig zugegen, beschweren sich (Marge) oft. John redet ohne Unterlass, stört damit auch oft das Naturerlebnis, ist aber ein sehr erfahrener Guide, der den Tieren manches Mal aber zu nahe rückt. Während des Game Drive stehen die Guides ständig über Funk in voller Lautstärke und auch für die Gäste störend hörbar in Verbindung. Ein Headset für die Guides wäre sehr wünschenswert und wird ja auch in anderen Lodges, z.B. Marataba Lodge, so gehandhabt. Das Personal ist bereits frühmorgens lautstark und störend zu vernehmen.

From the moment we arrived at Abelana Safari Camp, we could tell this was going to be a special experience, and it truly exceeded all expectations. The hosts, Marge and John, were the standout highlights of the entire stay. Their warmth, hospitality, and dedication to ensuring we had an unforgettable time were evident in every interaction. The Abelana Game Reserve itself was stunning, with diverse wildlife, vast landscapes, and tranquil settings. The accommodations had that perfect blend of luxury and nature. However, it was Marge and John's personal touch that elevated the experience. They took the time to greet us upon arrival and made sure we were settled in before giving us a brief tour of the property. Marge and John were always available to answer any questions and offer advice. The numerous guided game drives with John were a particular highlight. His knowledge of the wildlife, passion for conservation, geology and astronomy made the drives not just informative but also a genuine pleasure. We saw an impressive range of animals, from majestic rhinos, lions to elusive predators, and John’s ability to spot wildlife from afar was truly impressive. With Marge and John as your hosts, the Abelana Safari Camp was a truly memorable and heartwarming experience. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari experience with hosts who genuinely care about making your stay extraordinary.

Their personalisation was superb. They paid attention to us and went out of their way to accommodate us. We noticed all the little things they did to make us feel at home. The hosts both John and his wife were simply awesome. Wow.

Nothing about the place. The reserve is a little dense but John made up for it by us safely tracking lion, cheetah and rhino on foot to get better photos. Excellent work.

Incredible quality and value for money. The rooms are beautifully appointed and comfortable. The food is excellent and abundant. The safaris themselves are fascinating and top notch - the guiding is superb, the reserve is gorgeous and clearly well managed. The hosts at camp were very warm and welcoming.

Abelana is a beautiful lodge inside a private Big 5 game reserve. The rooms are private with great views of the Selati river. Every meal was delicious (and the teams took extra care ti cater for all dietary requirements). Our guide Adi was knowledgeable and took us on fantastic game drives!

Our time at Abelana was the BEST! With all the friendship from John & Marge (and all the staff). It was most definitely not only the best South African Experience but also the best human experience with all the great times we spent there that made it so special. From the moment we were greeted at the reserve's gate and at the main lobby through our entire stay we encountered attention to every detail and a lovely care towards us.
