Country Garden & Suites

Price was great, for a reason. The facility needs major upgrades. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling in, wallpaper peeling off & overall cleanliness was lacking.

NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!!!!

The room was so dirty, bugs, dust, bed sheets were dirty, the room was very outdated! Floors were dirty, it was such an awful smell in the room, and I have left and my skin is broken out so bad I'm a mega sanitation person but they room was unbearable I had to leave I was so tired I couldn't take it. It was an absolute mess!

The rooms had bed bugs had to find a different hotel.

Need to refurbish bathroom vanity. Access through gas station parking lot inconvenient. Expected coffee pot and microwave in room.

The hotel is falling apart. Cracks on walls in hallways that are just painted over. The bathroom sink was literally on a stand made of 2x4s. Tile was crumbling and wallboard peeling away from the corners. Like putting lipstick on a pig. The lobby smelled terrible, too

Despite the hotel being in a little bit sketchy area, everything seemed pretty safe. Check-in was quick. Serta Mattress that was fairly comfortable, a bit on the firm side. Sheets and pillows were soft and everything felt confidently clean. Great sized TV. All of the staples that make a good night stay are there. Door is a little older model of slide instead of tap, but works fine. Lock has a deadbolt and chain lock. Breakfast was on point, probably the best I've ever seen at this price point. Omelets, Sausage, waffles, biscuits, cereal, bagels and more. Staff were very accommodating and friendly, they all look like they genuinely enjoy their jobs. Breakfast was 6a-9a.

The layout of the hotel is a bit weird. You don't enter through the office, you enter through the middle of the building. Lobby feels dated like it's been there since the 90s. The room floors didn't feel clean to the touch of your feet, but I didn't get anything on my socks so ... not sure if the LVT floors are cheap and just got chewed up or need to be cleaned better. The bathroom is.... questionable. The counter was wooden that's been painted in a weird blue and burned? The staples like toilet paper holder and tissue holder had a fair amount of rust on them. AC wall unit had its thermometer placed right next to the output, so we had to set the temperature to 66F to get 70F I think. Nothing was bad, but there's definitely room for improvement.

Comfortable Stay with Excellent Amenities Stayed at Country Garden and Suite in Benton, IL and was very impressed. The room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable, and everything looked recently updated.The hot breakfast in the morning was a great touch — fresh and filling. The staff was friendly and check-in was fast and easy. I also liked that the hotel is right off the highway, which made it convenient for my road trip.
