Sea Otter Inn

The property was cozy and comfortable. Perfect for what we needed on our honeymoon. Free cookies everyday were amazing and the fire pits were awesome!

We wish the bathrooms had cabinets to keep our stuff in.

This is my first time staying in Cambria as we usually stay in Cayucos but I wanted to be a little closer to town. I booked this hotel just by looking at pictures and trying to find something that would accommodate my husband and myself with our dog. It’s always hard to tell if a hotel is good from its photos but this one far exceeded the photos that I saw. The room is spacious and this one had an adorable patio. There is a pool in a Jacuzzi as well as fire pits that everyone gathers around at night to chat and have a glass of wine. You are literally right across the street from the Moonstone boardwalk and beach. I happen to be a rock collector so I had a great time looking for rocks and seashells especially at night while my husband was watching baseball playoffs. The fireplace is actually a heater as well so it warm the room perfectly. The breakfast that came every morning was amazing and with the little handle and the picnic basket made it even more charming. I told my husband he’s going to have to buy one and make me breakfast every day lol. As a matter fact we ended up meeting some people at the castle Inn and I have now talked them into staying at the sea otter Inn because I told him about the rooms and the breakfast. Finally exceptional customer service by Doug and by Wendy (she’s the best ) who both listen to my needs and went above and beyond to accommodate me! I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. downside to the location which is by far no fault of the sea otter in is that T-Mobile is almost impossible to use in Cambria but thanks to Doug he told me where I could stand to get reception to call my mom and also Moonstone Beach is not dog friendly only the boardwalk which kind of stinks but again not the fault of the hotel!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean and spacious with a table, desk, and comfortable chairs. We used the fireplace on the chilly morning. We had a room with a patio and a beautiful ocean view. In the evening we walked on the boardwalk down to the ocean and watched the sunset. The staff was very helpful and provided cookies, coffee, and hot tea in the office as well as delivering our breakfast in the morning. The Sea Otter Inn is well-maintained - inside and outside - with flowers in the planters and scarecrows sitting outside. It has a cozy, homey feel and we would like to return soon.

We visit Cambria each year and have stayed at two other locations on the same road but they were both booked. We found Sea Otter Inn and very lucky that we did! The reservation process was thorough and professional. Upon check in you are greeted with fresh baked cookies. The property looks like small cottages and is directly across from the ocean and walking trail. Chairs out front to enjoy the view. The room was the cleanest room we have stayed in and far surpassed the other properties. The room was cozy and bed/pillows were excellent. You choose your breakfast the night before and it is delivered in the morning in a basket that is hung outside your door. Property is quiet and also has a quiet policy that you sign. All of the above made for a wonderful visit and this will now be our go to location each year.

We stay at the Sea Otter often and love it!! Centrally located for all we want to experience and a good breakfast, too! We really appreciate their attention to detail!

Loved the Suite with our daughter and grandchild. Nice pool and extra private space for privacy. Across the street great ocean walking boardwalk. Extra benefit I was able to charge my Tesla. This was my second visit and I’ll be back

Very rude staff. The booking said breakfast included. When I asked front desk about it was told since I booked thru 3rd party we didn’t get breakfast.Next night went down the street and stayed at Sand Pebble Inn, booked thru 3rd party again and breakfast was included. Went up the entire coast of CA booking thru 3rd party and got breakfast at everyone one except the Sea Otter Inn. Pretty bad considering how much the room cost!!!

Place was old but clean. Location is excellent. Very beautiful scenery and a few steps from the beach.
