La Posada Lodge & Casitas, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Beautiful location in unexpected place

Cozy, good price, not too far

This is a beautiful hotel and if my pooch was writing this review, she would give it 5 stars. The area for dogs is perfect and so welcoming. The reason I give it a 4 star is because of the check in staff. The young individual checking us in was not very informed about the rooms. Also, when I inquired about my bill (which was about $75 higher than the quote), I was met with a defensive attitude even after showing him my reservation email. There is a $50 resort fee which is thrown in, so be sure it is included in your price. There is also an incidental fee, which we weren't told about until I had the individual bring my bill up and go over it. Dogs are $25 which is very reasonable. Once the actual charge went through my credit card site, it was accurate, but getting an explaination was rough! On to the good! We requested a room on the first floor. It opened right up onto the beautiful dog area which made it VERY nice for night time potty needs. The room had a nice bed, refrigerator, microwave and a nice shower. It is old, so don't expect modern tile, paint, etc. I visited with a very nice lady who said that the rooms facing the busy street are VERY loud. Ours was very quiet. There is a really neat bar and sitting area with a fireplace, and a beautiful pool and spa. The hotel itself is a bit tricky to get around if you are on the ground floor. Breakfast was very nice and lots of options. '

The staff is very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, nice and peaceful to walk through. We enjoyed happy hour and dinner at the restaurant on site. We’ll be back!

We held a large group (80 plus] happy hour at La Posadas Gringo Bar and Grill. The staff was welcoming, quick and friendly, the drinks were well prepared, and the food tasty. We look forward to returning in the future

Mattress in room was REALLY worn out. A large dog in the room next door barked all night.
