La Posada Lodge & Casitas, an Ascend Collection Hotel

I loved the Southwestern charm of the property.

Handy location and easy, included parking.

Our room was in a nice garden location, but at the very end of the run of rooms and WIFI was virtually non-existent. The room itself was quite spacious, with a very comfortable bed, but the other furniture was rather tired and the windows were really dirty. The included breakfast was described as ‘Superb’ but was an average Motel breakfast apart from the availability of a Mimosa. We didn’t use the pool as the pool water looked rather murky and uninviting. Unfortunately not the experience we were expecting.

The staff at The Cantina was absolutely amazing! We were in town for my father’s funeral so the fact that Gio and Gabby were able to chat & cheer us up was so special. They made our stay comforting!!

Great shower. Room chair was more comfortable than at most hotels.

Room should have two comfortable chairs. Bed sagged to the middle-uncomfortable. I wanted to discuss a long term arrangement for the winter months. Desk clerk kindly gave me the name / number to call in California. I left message on her voice mail. No one ever returned my call.

The breakfast was pretty good. The cookies at check-in were delicious. The tile in the bathroom was really fun. Nice thick towels.

The windows and doors are very old. They don’t do much to keep out the road noise or the noise on the walkway outside the room. You can see daylight around the door in the frame. The patio door barely opens. The hinges on the bathroom door squeak loudly. The beds were uncomfortable and we both woke up with sore backs. There were no real blankets on the bed. The air conditioning unit was noisy. The pool and spa were being painted and we couldn’t use them.

Casita worked out well for my dad's rest and prep before cancer surgery. I stayed in a double room only a few steps away.

The hotel has beautiful landscaping and the exterior is attractive. From the outside, it has a resort ambiance. It was clean and well maintained. The pool has a relaxing waterfall feature. It is in a good location and the staff is friendly.

The room & pool loungers need updating. The toilet did not have a lid. The hotel could easily charge $100 more per room if they were to renovate the rooms and improve breakfast. Breakfast was subpar and the same each day. Housekeeping every three days was difficult for us. Every other day would have been easier to track and keep the handtowels stocked. The $22 resort fee should not be charged on days the pool is unavailable.
