Location was very good, apartment was spacious and the view wonderful

Traumatic experience when our 2nd booking (starting 27 December at the same property) got canceled short notice (on 24 Dec) by booking.com. Even after being fully paid on 23 Nov. Although it seemed like a booking.com error the hosts did nothing to support us and only gave us deadlines to book again on their site. Completely unsympathetic and unhelpful. After a very stressful Christmas trying to resolve it ourselves between booking.com and An Island Apart we were forced to check out on 27 Dec. Booking.com customer service was helpful in finding us another place but this was not the outcome we wanted and we even had to spend time "on the street". I'll think twice before using An Island Apart again. Unfortunately, after using booking.com for more than 12 years I'll also look for an alternative now.

Place was very spacious and had a great view

We loved that the appartment is on the 8th floor (nice view, fresh air), in a building with appartment owners (not just tourists) and that the building has its own parking lot. Beds are great (especially the double bed and the two singles), and kitchen, furniture and showers and nothing to complain about. Toilets flush well. The second bathroom is uncomfortably small though, and there is always a lot of noise (dogs, roosters, cars) coming from the building’s surroundings. Distance to the city centre is walkable (16 mins down/uphill) and WiFi is nice and stable.

I wish the unit location and key info can be shared the night before the check-in. It was only shared right before check in via messages, when I was already low on data with my phone plan. it could go much smoother if some information was shared earlier.
