Waimea Plantation Cottages, a Coast Resort

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. The property is made up of individual cottages, each with its own kitchen, which gave us the perfect mix of comfort and independence. The setting is beautiful—lush, quiet, and tucked away in a peaceful area of the island, offering plenty of privacy. It felt like our own little retreat. We loved having a private space to unwind after a day of exploring. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene, relaxing getaway.

Property premises are well kept and have few games (volleyball, shuffleboard) that families can enjoy by the beach. Staff is quite friendly and helpful. The problem is that the cottage itself is not in good state. Kitchen cabinets, bathroom definitely need some work, e.g drawers in kitchen cabinet are very hard to open/close, bathroom tiles are broken, kitchen faucet keeps leaking…etc. Ceiling height is too short and all of us had to duck under the ceiling fans so as to not hit them. Probably won’t go back as there are better places to stay at the same price and the location is not too convenient if you are into snorkeling (no good beaches on west side of Kauai)

We loved the cottage we had, the people were fantastic, and it was always quiet and peaceful. We weren’t sure what to expect, it was so relaxing. The grounds are really nice, and every cottage is different. Even though there seemed to be lots of occupied cottages, you didn’t run in to too many people.

Definitely would come back and stay again

We were totally blown away by this property. It felt like walking into a movie. Our cottage was absolutely incredible. We both had tears in our eyes leaving.

The setting , cottages and property was excellant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet and peaceful during our stay. The pool was not busy or crowded. The grounds well keep. Free laundry area and soap provided. Anything we needed was promptly supplied. The kitchen well supplied. The beds comfortable.

Most of all I loved how quiet it was. I was travelling for work-related reasons but super glad I decided to get a cottage here. It is in a beautiful peaceful grove of trees and the perfect location to get away from it all. The cottages are right on the edge of Waimea - so you can feasible walk to the restaurants. There was a giant black sand beach right in front of the cottage area that had virtually no one on at it, and it is right at the entry road to Waimea canyon - which is some of the most beautiful hiking in Hawaii. The cottages had a legitimate kitchen (full size oven, fridge, pots and pan etc.) and even included conveniences like coffee filters and dish soap so all I needed to do was buy some of the food I wanted.

This was our second visit and it is so perfect for a family. Great for walks use of the pool close to a kid friendly beach. We can walk to town too.
