Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Montreal

Facilities weren’t inviting

No issues with the room- it was clean, updated. The hotel is an older building but at least the rooms and reception area have seen updates. Breakfast was included and didn’t leave us hungry. It was a bit odd having no meat at all. This is unfortunately all I have found that was good about the hotel so far in our stay as there have been several issues with check in and unauthorized charges on 2 separate credit cards. I noticed I was recharged $1951 again instead of just the $100 deposit. By the next morning, I was charged again on another card plus an extra $46. Nobody working at the front desk is able to reverse these charges and the manager was not interested in helping when the reception called her

Le petit dejeuner était simple et peu etre amélioré avec plus de choix je pense et concernant le sauna il ne fonctionne pas c'est dommage nous aurions aimé l'utiliser la situation geographique est excentrée mais tout de meme bien déservie par les bus et metro

Malgré l'emplacement, c'était parfait pour moi

I am extremely disappointed and shocked by the treatment I received at check-in. I booked my stay at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Montreal through Booking.com, where it explicitly stated that parking was free. Upon arrival, the front desk receptionist demanded a $10 per day parking fee. When I politely pointed out that my reservation guaranteed free parking, her attitude completely changed. Instead of honoring the booking terms or handling the discrepancy professionally, she began using intimidation tactics. She claimed that the main parking lot was "not safe" for my vehicle and tried to pressure me into paying to park in an underground facility at an entirely different property. This behavior is completely unacceptable. The entire main parking lot is covered by CCTV security cameras, making it very obvious that she was fabricating a safety hazard solely because I refused to pay an unadvertised fee. Attempting to scare and threaten guests into paying extra money is a deeply dishonest business practice. Hotel management needs to review this front desk interaction immediately and address this staff member's behavior. I will not be returning.

The beds were comfortable.

The receptionist tried to double charge us for our stay even though we had prepaid on the website before. It took another staff member to prevent her from doing so - thank you to her! Some items in the room were in poor condition/didn’t work - lamps, furniture, etc. The hotel is ~30m from downtown so keep that in mind when booking.
