Casa do Lido by An Island Apart

Die Lage ist - vor allem für einen Mountainbike-Urlaub - sensationell! Einkaufs- sowie Frühstücksmöglichkeiten befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe und zum Shuttle-Anbieter sind es mit dem Bike nur 2 - 3 Minuten. Ausreichend Platz für das Sport-Equipment. Durch das straßenseitige Gemeinschaftstor hatte ich auch keine Sicherheitsbedenken.

Sehr dünne Türen mit herabfallenden Türknaufen. Durch die Kombi Türknauf und Druckknopf zur Türöffnung wurde das Öffnen zum Abenteuer und sehr laut - in der Schlafenszeit sehr störend. Zumindest sollten die Türknaufe fest angebracht werden.

The location was good, and the property was secure

The outside gate (to the street) had a lock that was difficult to open from the outside

Location is great, in walking distance of many reataurants, and a good supermarket. Waking up with a direct view on the ocean is great. Garden is beautiful during the day. Parking for 2 cars. Oil, salt, pepper and a cleaning cloth were provided.

I'm being critical because the houe ain't cheap -The pictures of the inside of the house are much nicer than reality, especially at night. (Not false advertising, just great use of angles) - All lamps in the house and garden are harsh white, all atmosphere is gone when turning them on. We had to resort to buying a lot of candles to not feel like being in a hospital. Please install warm white lamps and add some more "atmoshperical" lamps. - The amount of mosquito's, the whole day, inside and outside the house. The owner should install nets above the beds and install anti-mosquito lamps. - No towel refresh, even after asking for one. One set of towels is not comfortable for a week. Why not provide extra towels? Or at least provide some laundry detergent so we can wash ourselves. - Cheap beds, the double beds don't stay together, creating a hole between the beds. Maybe tie them thogether or replace them? - Wooden outside chairs could do with some pillows or get more of the mesh chairs. - Agressive dog at neighbours barks day/night when you come and go to the house. - Don't rent a car wider than a Peugeot 308, there is a tree in front of the entrance. - Internet not super reliable. I think a new modem/router is needed. - No mirrors in the bedrooms. In general the house feels like it was purely set up as a cash cow with a goal of being "indistructable". By spending 300 EUR this house could become a cosy place to stay. I hope the owner improves. .
