Totoco Eco Resort

I absolutely love this place. It's the only place I'll stay on Ometepe. The view is spectacular and the vibe is very chill with sounds of nature, not people! Very friendly and helpful staff. Especially Tania! This place is a gem!

There was only one outlet in my entire casita which was hooked up to a light and fan, so if you needed to charge anything, you had to unplug one or the other! I will bring an extension cord next time!

Hotel localizado num ponto alto com vistas deslumbrantes. Bem integrado na natureza e staff simpático. O ambiente é muito tranquilo, ideal para uma estadia relaxante. Apesar dos muitos comentários sobre a dificuldade dos acessos, conseguimos subir sem dificuldade com um suv normal.

O ponto negativo mais sério foi ter desaparecido uma quantia significativa de dinheiro do nosso quarto durante o curto período de tempo em que fomos ao pequeno almoço. A gestão do hotel lidou com o problema com cuidado e atenção, mas não nos foi possível reaver o dinheiro. Nem nos pareceu que ficassem muito surpreendidos com o sucedido. Apesar de o hotel ter cofres, estes não estão nos quartos mas numa sala comum na recepção (algo muito atípico), e a informação da sua existência apenas nos foi dada ‘en passant’ à chegada, como algo relativamente secundário. O outro ponto negativo, neste e noutros hotéis do país, é que o pequeno-almoço incluído na estadia é pouco generoso. Foi sempre necessário pedir comida extra, que teve de ser paga à parte. Nem o café era possível repetir sem valor acrescentado, algo que nunca vi em nenhum hotel em que tenha ficado. Finalmente, a água da piscina podia ser mais limpa.

Our room had a beautiful view, also the rooms are very private which makes you feel like your in the middle of nature.

We had another stay at Ometepe which was a bit cheaper, but not less nice than this place, so I would say the price is a bit high. The picture of the pool is nicer than the pool in real life.

Prachtige plek en vriendelijk personeel. Ontzettend genoten van het uitzicht en ons verblijf. Ik was jarig tijdens mijn verblijf en het personeel heeft, in samenspraak met mijn partner, voor een ontzettend leuke viering gezorgd. Kamer is ruimtelijk en huisjes zijn privé waardoor je optimaal kan genieten.

De weg ernaar toe, vooral het eerste gedeelte, vergt verbetering.

Beautiful place. The room was gorgeous, I loved the outdoor shower. Yoga shala is stunning and I loved Gage’s class and the sound healing. Dinner and lunch were great.

It would have been nice to have wifi in rooms but not a big deal and a few more comfy chairs in reception.

La vue sur le volcan Concepción est extraordinaire. Le coucher de soleil est un moment magique. Le cours de yoga avec cette vue est quelque chose à faire absolument.

Le chemin d’accès depuis la route principale pourrait être amélioré. La cuisine pour le dîner était beaucoup moins bonne et créative que dans d’autres restaurants de l’île ce qui est dommage.

The views from the property and the grounds were nice and well kept.

This place is run down. It appears that they havent done any maintenance in a very long time. Light in room flickering for a day before going out completely. Blinds didnt operate and several had protruding metal Shower leaked, walls were covered in dead bug smears and mold. Paint was peeling, unfinished shower enclosure. Bat feces on bathroom counter every morning. Bed constantly covered in insect feces, had to ask to get sheets changed. Mattress appeared and felt older than the volcano. Mosquito nets had lots of holes, roof had animals living in it and constantly shed debris onto the floor. Staff was doing their best, but clearly had no help from owners. At checkout I was charged 10% extra as a "voluntary tip" which they didnt mention until I asked about it. The owners have really let this place go, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The view onto the island from the resort is great. We also liked the food, it was delicious. The staff was friendly.

The resort looks quiet old. The apartment incl bathroom are very dark at any time, old & used furnitures incl mosquito net. Bats nesting in the roof. Inside visiting cockroaches and big spiders (we are travelling now 2 weeks in Nicaragua and are aware of nature - anyhow those visitors were unusual). Yoga lessons too spiritual.
