The Moon and Sixpence

The Moon and Sixpence is an amazing place right opposite the pier. The rooms are very comfortable, the place has a lot of character, the breakfasts are incredible, and most of all the staff are very kind and friendly. We will definitely return and would recommend the place to others.

Pleasent basic accomodation in the adjoined building to the main pub. Basic bedroom: with dressing table, tea facilities, small TV, good wifi and sperate storage area. Comfy double bed. Good heating. Iron and board available. Slightly dated and basic BUT was VERY CLEAN, more than adequate for a few nights. The main pub, again needs a refresh but was nice and clean with a good selction of drink and food. The breakfast was freshly made to order and nice. Limited car parking available. Located right on the promonade. Summary: Good basic accomodation, but clean and Very Welcoming staff.

Surprised to find a Greek selection on the lunch menu - turns out the landlord is part Greek and a former chef (we were told) . Have to say the Chicken Souvlaki (which we both had) was really excellent and served with a delicious fresh salad with a nice dressing. All that and a decent choice of (English!) beers. From upstairs you can look out to the Pier opposite.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was brilliant. Great views from the pub across the channel to Wales. Clevedon is a lovely little town. Great short break.

Great location. Nice to see the sea first thing in the morning.

Called in for a quick drink which turned into a long drink. They had a good selection of beers and ciders. We sat upstairs which had an excellent view of the pier and the estuary. We had battered fish bites and fries for a snack and it was very good.

We booked room 4 with a lovely view of the pier which cost more but was given room 5 with a view of a wall at the back. On complaining we were told the boss would look into it. On leaving the next day no-one accepted responsibility. Staff were friendly, food was good but we paid extra for a view which we didn’t get.Nobody sorted it out. We paid extra for room 4 and were given a substitute. No money was offered even thought we were in a cheaper room.
