Villa Chingo

We stayed at Villa Chingo for 3 nights in the top floor 3 person room. The accomodation had amazing balcony views and was the perfect place for a peaceful start to our holiday. The premises were clean and there were kitchen facilities to use. The host Lupco was great- very friendly and helpful- he was always available for any questions and help. The one downside is that the location is quite far from Ohrid town, so unless you want peaceful break or have a car, it may be a task to get a cab or use local buses. There is a nearby restaurant which is amazing and a small conveniece store 15 mins walk. Id highly recommend considering these premises.

Stayed here by chance. It was an awesome stay, didn’t book the view room at first but after seeing it, we paid the fee to have the view, and kept the doors open for the wind at night. It was a very pleasant stay. We had a car, but it’s not the for the faint hearted to drive up the hill to get there, and the tight, short, road. Parking is included, just know that any of the Balkan countries with off road streets can be difficult. This location is prime, on the outskirts of Ohrid, 8 minutes from the center, and a 20 minute drive to Struga, which we drove to everyday. Coming from New Jersey, a 20 minute drive is easy. The owner spoke Macedonian and English, and was very accommodating. Thank you for a great stay!

That view is worth the visit!

Our room view to the lake was awesome. The room had enough space. The owner was very kind and helpful. The bed was comfortable and there was a very cozy balcony which was perfect for breakfast and dinner times. There was a small but adequate kitchen where you could prepare coffee or basic meals.

The location of the appartments is a little bit difficult for driving (narrow road and steep slope) as it is located on the hill. Only 3 cars can park in the yard, which means that you have to coordinate with the other occupants about entering and exiting the parking if there are other cars. Some of the towels had a bad smell the second day of use. The bulding seems to be under construction works. Probably it will look better when these works will be finished.

Having booked the night before, I arrived, and the owner had already booked the room to someone else. He claimed that he’d only just received the confirmation from Hotel.com. He was completely rude and started shouting at me.

Quiet place to take a good rest.

First of all, we understand that we booked one night in a busy period for the location, but that's not an excuse for the price we paid. 4,000mkd(65eur) for the room we received was a total scam. The room wasn't like the one we booked. We received something like "extra made room" as part of the owners house, that's not even on the booking options.We didnt even had a working light in that room. The lake view you see on the photos is available in only 2-3 rooms. Photos are also probably taken when this was built, as they look outdated now. Rooms don't have AC. It's okay for the nights as it's colder, but for the daytime, it can get hot a lot. Parking place is available only for 3 cars. Everything you see on the negative reviews here is a lot worse. Trust me! I will definitely be compiling a complaint to booking for a refund!

Fantastisk perle tilbagetrukket og med sublim udsigt fra (tror jeg) de fleste værelser. Jeg har seriøst aldrig nogensinde (har rejst i knap 60 lande) haft så smuk en udsigt fra et værelse! OBS: Stedet er IKKE egnet til gangbesværede! Men for alle os andre er det en perle. Det er et meget, meget hyggeligt sted med virkelig god atmosfære - man har sit eget værelse, men der er måske 5-7 andre værelser, og man deler så køkken (vi havde dog eget køleskab og egen altan på begge værelser) og den hyggeligste gårdhave med evt. andre beboere. Det var superhyggeligt, og vi kom i snak med rejsende fra Italien, Holland og Danmark (men havde også gårdhaven for os selv mange gange). Eneste lille minus var, at der manglede bestik og lidt supplerende køkkenudstyr i det ellers superfine fælleskøkken. Vi vil virkelig anbefale dette sted, som ligger 5 min. gang fra Ohrid Søen og med et godt udgangspunkt for ture til Ohrid by (10 min. i bil) og mange andre smukke og spændende steder langs Ohrid Søen. OBS: Der er stærk trafik, hvis man vil gå ned til supermarkedet (men fred og ro og ingen trafik ved selve overnatningsstedet). Stedet egner sig bedst til, at man lejer bil.

Det var et flot hotel med en fantastisk beliggenhed. Værelset var rent og nydeligt, og det samme gjaldt det lille fælles køkken der var. Ejeren er utrolig imødekommende og hjælpsom.
