Capital O First Heritage Inn Rantoul IL I 57

My room was clean. A/C worked really well. Hotel overall needs maintenance and repairs.

The door chain was broken, the shower was only lukewarm water, multiple light bulbs were out, and the room smelled musty.

Never got a key to my room, had get staff to let me in my room.

Was on a trip back home from vacation and decided to get a room for the night. Pictures on website looked nice and also featured a pool. Booked a room with the intention of letting my children swim before bed. We we got to the hotel.....pool was empty and was over run with weeds. Building was in poor condition. Suppord beams were warping. Wallpaper in room was peeling off walls and you could see where they had patched a hole and did nothing to finish it and make it look good. There were no towels for bathing. Description stated that it slept 5 but there were only 2 beds. There was nothing to accomidate a 5th person. Had to have my daughter in bed with myself and my husband. I will never stay there again. There were people obviously living there. Saw one person outside making videos on their phone for tiktok it appeared. Very run down establishment and we were very uneasy staying there. Do not recommend this hotel!

It was in sad condition. Pool was overgrown, breakfast was only cereal and bagels and most of the property was needing maintenance. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Didn’t have enough towels for my family of four very disappointing

King size bed with 2 billows about she size of my head. Toilet didn’t flush and would slowly drain. Sewage smell in the room. Feet stuck to the the carpet. I called to ask the front desk a question by pushing zero on the phone 2 different times with no answer. The door to the room didn’t fully close and I could see light and it also looked like someone tried to break in. As I was checking out I found a drug spoon not far from the outside of my door.

I normally don’t stay at places like this but there was a soccer tournament going on and options were limited so I booked this online. Check in easy and courteous. Upon waking to my ground floor room, I noticed old red tape on the door frame of the unit next to mine (crime scene). Room was clean. Beds were very squeaky and pillow about a inch thick. Tv didn’t work. Bathroom door didn’t shut all the way. You can hear everyone next to you and above you. Normally this place probably rents for about $80/night but due to scarcity I paid $220. I later googled the hotel and crime and found out in 2022 a murder was committed there! I don’t recommend.

Towels were like rags, can barely stand in the bathrooms, kind of out in nowhere.

This was the cheapest place on Expedia when I booked it for one night. For these circumstances, it was a good place. There were some issues with the wifi not working and the guy at the desk took a long time to check me in because he didn't know what he was doing. However, the room was better than what I thought it would be for a rock bottom price, and the place conveniently backs onto a Wal-Mart; there's a popular restaurant across the street and the inn is right off the highway.
