The Belmont Hotel

Nice hotel near the centre of Leicester. I used it as somewhere to stay while I spent a few days at the cricket. I was grateful there was parking there. And I particularly liked the breakfast. My room and bed were comfortable and there were plenty of tea bags and coffee provided.

Very thin walls. On the Saturday night the hotel was busy and I could hear everything from the room opposite mine despite there being a corridor between us.

What a brilliant stay. Our room was fantastic. Location great. Brilliant breakfast. Would highly recommend

One of the breakfast staff needs to learn some customers service skills. She was not interested. But the other staff couldn't be faulted

The staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them

Bar drinks a bit pricey

La colazione era ben assortita, ma per il prezzo mi aspettavo standard più elevati. Quando sono arrivata non sapendo dove fossero disposte le bevande, ho chiesto alla cameriera se potessi avere dell'acqua, visto che ci aveva già portato il caffè, e mi ha risposto di servirmi da sola. Non è stata maleducata ma era ovvio che non sapessi nemmeno dove fossero le bevande. Alla fine della colazione ho trovato il bar e ho preso la caraffa per versarmi il succo ma c'era una formica dentro, lo faccio notare e viene presa da una signora penso delle pulizie, nessuno si è scusato o offerto di portare altro succo, siamo rimasti per qualche secondo imbarazzante a guardarci

Le persone alla reception, mi ha accolto un signore con gli occhiali al check in, ha parlato molto velocemente e non ho sinceramente capito nulla tranne l'orario di apertura della colazione. Arrivata in ascensore ho chiesto a una coppia se avessero capito cosa gli aveva detto il receptionist e nemmeno loro avevano colto nulla (io sono italiana, l'inglese è la mia terza lingua ma loro erano una coppia britannica). Al check out chiedo se possono tenermi la valigia che ho chiamato "carry-on bag" per lacuna di terminologia alternativa, il signore (sempre lo stesso del check in) mi ha risposto solo "you mean the luggage? yeah we don't call it that". mentre si dirigeva a prendermi il bagaglio. Gli ho sorriso e sono andata via.
