The Lansdowne, Eastbourne

We loved the location, our room and the staff.

We were let down by a LOT of ants in our room, but the staff were brilliant (at all points) with dealing with our concerns and sorted everything very efficiently.

On the plus side the location is very good with access to restaurants nearby and the sea front. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Evening meal in the hotel restaurant was good.

The room was supposed to be Executive Double room but it was small and uncomfortable so we asked to move and this was accommodated and whilst we lost the sea view we at least were not falling over each other. Many niggles made it annoying. TV remote didn't work as batteries dead, no cold water for the bath, no tissues in room, underwhelming and expensive lunch sandwiches, breakfast poor for the level of hotel with surcharges for items that require some actual cooking etc etc. The place looks great in the photos but has a feel of being gradually run down which is a shame for the staff that work there.

Das Hotel ist seit dem Beginn des letzten Jahrhunderts mit hohem Standard inhabergeführt. Die Einrichtungsqualität ist outstanding. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend und die ausreichenden öffentlicehn Parkplätze unmittelbar an der Haustür werden für 3 Eur pro Tag überlassen. Im Hotel gibt es mehrere Lounges und eine Bar, in Welche man sich zurückziehen kann. Das Hauskeeping war sehr aufmerksam. Die Mitarbeiter der Reception sind sehr flexibel und freundlich.

Friendly staff at check in

Room was unclean and had no aircon. The double bed was very small for a couple and the room amenities were limited

All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Mum had to use the outside lift to get into the hotel as she is a wheelchair user . However this was not a problem at all as there was always a friendly member of staff on hand to help. The room itself was lovely with a beautiful sea view . Very comfortable. We will definitely be going back .

The bathroom was very small .
