Bed was very comfortable and the whole place was very clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We would certainly stay there again

The shower over the bath wasn't ideal but having the handrails was very helpful.

The heater didn’t adequately heat the room. The batteries were flat on the controller also (but heater was set to a high temperature so should have kept us comfortable, but didn’t). No-one at the front desk on arrival at 3pm on a Saturday. Restaurant not open weekends. It’s like tourist don’t matter to the owners. When i messaged Gold Rush Inn through booking.com re the heater and checking out early, i didn’t get a response from them till over 24hrs later. Their response was that i should have called their after hours number. Yet they provided check-in details through Booking.com so would assume this was an adequate method of communication? Booked a room for family of 4 yet dining table with only 3 chairs in the room. Outdated. Booked 2 nights but after 2hrs decided to leave the next day. Contacted management seeking refund/compensation but denied.

The room was clean and functional for our use. The wifi was good too. It could be walkable into the town if fitter, (arthritis stopped me). Easy to find on the road leading out of Queenstown, and easy to park. The bed was comfy, but that depends on what you like tbh. It was firm but not too much. Easy to access the room via the locker at reception with the code emailed to you beforehand. Nice touch with some milk already in the fridge, and washing up liquid - it's the little things, you know! Laundry room was very useful, AUD4 per wash and AUD 4 for the dryer, but they dried quicker than mine at home.

Would have been nice to have seen the owners and introduced themselves. Didn't seem to be around even when the "open" hours stated, however don't let that stop you from visiting this wilderness area. Fortunately nothing cropped up where I'd have to contact them When it rained, and boy did it rain, it was quite loud on the roof, but you can't help the weather.

Comfy bed. Clean and well stocked room. Easy check in and out with lockbox and key drop. Overall good value and straightforward

The airconditioner wasn’t fabulous. It was a cold night, there was no spare blanket, and the heater was questionable
