International Hotel Killarney

We had an absolutely incredible meal at Hannigan’s Restaurant! Dining as a family, the entire experience was flawless from beginning to end. JT looked after us so well his service was outstanding, attentive and he made us feel completely at ease. We also had great chats with him, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The food was simply exceptional, easily some of the best we’ve ever had. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. A truly memorable experience, and we can’t wait to return!

I had a wonderful two-night stay at International Hotel Killarney as part of my Irish Adventure tour run by CIE Tours (you can read my review of the amazing Irish Adventure tour on CIE’s TripAdvisor page). I would happily stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Killarney. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel was very well staffed. I stayed in a lovely, smaller room on the first floor. The view was of a narrow alley between two buildings (nothing spectacular), but that was perfectly fine. I was visiting during a very crowded holiday weekend, and I was told to expect the streets to be loud with celebrations. However, I heard none of the noise and even slept with the window open, as the room was a bit warm. In addition to the expected toiletries (soap, shampoo, and lotion), the hotel provides complimentary biscuits, coffee, and an assortment of teas. The toiletries smelled very nice. The room itself was beautifully designed with a cozy, classy, and historic feel. It was the smallest room I stayed in during my Irish Adventure tour, but it was meticulously arranged. There were plenty of shelves, drawers, hooks, and surfaces for my belongings, although I did need to move the armchairs and table to fully access the closet. I appreciated the variety of lighting options, along with a good number of outlets. There was also a large television with local channels, which I enjoyed as a non-local. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows. I am a very light sleeper, and even with the window open, I did not hear any noise from outdoors, the hallway, or neighboring rooms. The bathroom featured a large shower with excellent water pressure, as well as a spacious jacuzzi tub. I never ran out of hot water. The room was exceptionally clean, with no mold, dust, bugs, hairs, or leftover items from previous guests. The hotel’s restaurant and pub were just as classy and historic as the rest of the property and served delicious, elevated traditional Irish cuisine. You truly cannot beat the location. The hotel sits across from Killarney National Park and is just steps from the main shopping and dining streets, an ideal base for experiencing everything Killarney has to offer. I really had a lovely stay. Well done, International Hotel Killarney!

We had a wonderful time in Killarney, staying in the International. Our daughter was dancing in the Irish dancing world championship. We booked a family room for 4 of us. It was spotless like the rest of the hotel, it had a double bed and 2 singles ,plenty of room and they had 2 jars of treats for the kids in the room when we arrived which was a lovely surprise, they were delighted. There's no carpark for the hotel but the public ones are just a few minutes away and are very cheap so that wasn't an issue for us. We brought 2 bikes for me and my son to use while my wife and daughter were at the feis and the hotel very kindly stored them for us. The food at dinner and breakfast was very good and excellent service. All the staff we met were fantastic. I almost forgot it's in a great location too! I've been working in the hospitality business for over 25 years and I would highly recommend this hotel. It's just charming, we loved it

The room was an executive room there was noting fancy about it very standard room not worth the money for it and no bottles of water in the room...next morning my partner went down to get 2 bottles of water and got charged nearly €8 when in fact they had a free water station we spotter after wards and the staff never told us about it
