Historical place that is beautifully kept, with big bedrooms, hot water for a bath and amazing breakfast!

The staff were great, very welcoming. The food was really nice, a special thanks to the Lady that served us. The Guinness was a very good pint. The breakfast was everything you would expect from a top-notch hotel, we were made to feel like nothing was a problem.

The chairs in the bedroom didn't feel safe. Sadly, i forgot to mention this on checking out, so in fairness, they might not know

absolutely brilliant hotel, and owners Veronica & Gary were so welcoming, breakfast was amazing , as was our evening meals (went out once big mistake). room was checked everyday and refilled with tea coffee etc, been here a few times now and will return , so friendly and definitely value for what you pay , well done to everyone who works there .. nothing was to much trouble for them. lovely views near the port 5 mins away

Even though Hotel is very old and dated, everything in the rooms worked and was clean. Breakfast was decent.

Rooms are extremely hot and windows are very small without much ventilation. They should think of maybe buying portable aircons for rooms at an additional fee. I would have paid extra for one. The beds are also extremely soft and uncomfortable and when you combine this with the heat its a bad combination and had a really bad night sleep as a result. Soft matresses are polarizing. Medium mattresses should be used in hotels to try cater for all. We also ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night but luckily we had our own as a back up. The restaurant was also quite disappointing. We wanted the fish but they had run out so we had the burgers instead which was very dry with no sauces. We wanted to get some extra sauces but after the food was given to us at our table, the bar staff seemed to dissappear and we didn't see them again for the rest of the evening and felt like we were neglected and forgotten about. The parking instructions are also very confusing and unnecessarily complicated. These should be simplified. All that needs to be provided is parking post code and instructions to park opposite Gulf. Even though instructions are provided, once you get to the parking there is also no signage for the hotel so was difficult to find. The signs that are there are actually for another establishment which added to the confusion. Some signage would help. The breakfast was pretty good but the sausage let it down. The sausage should either be removed completely or a better quality sausage should be given. I didn't raise my concerns at the time but this was because most of these became an issue during the middle of the night. I hope the owner takes my review constructively and not personally as this was my personal experience even though it may be hard to hear and I do wish the best for them, but all of these issues can be fixed. The biggest deal breaker for me was the comfort of the bed.

Quite a dated property but clean , comfortable and the staff were exceptional. Great food . Tasty and good value for money. On the down side the decor was old fashioned and the main bed was a bit lumpy so I slept in the single bed . No 14 . Family room. Able to take the dogs and plenty of beaches for walkies. I normally stay on the opposite side of the island but was good to do some more exploring of the island. We ate breakfast each morning. Full cooked and really delicious. Evening meal we were going to go out but as food was so good and great price we stayed in on both evenings. Recommend. Piping hot. Tasty and great efficient friendly service.

Location. Personal choice as I prefer the other side of the island . Better beaches.

The staff very obliging, car park very good, Lower part of hotel smart. Nice steak meal on first night.

Upstairs very tired, bedroom doors didn't go with the building, stayed in room 5 mattress finished needs new one, window seat but not easy to sit in, bathroom needs deep clean, radiator in wrong place to close to toilet would be better to put heated towel rail by shower as no where to hang them, no where to put soap when in shower, no slip mat for shower. Meal on second night awful, steak pie with only 4 pieces of meat the rest runny gravy, didn't eat at hotel again.
