Crabbe Mountain Inn

This is a mistake as I was advised by email that my reservation was cancelled by Crabbe Mountain Inn. I should not have gotten any further information from Expedia.

We love spending time at the Inn. Great people, super service and food. The entertainment each eve is fantastic as well. Feels like home.

We chose this place as we prefer to support locally-owned businesses where possible. We regret this decision. Even though the room description was very misleading ie. not at all deluxe and with a SHARED bathroom, we decided to stay as it had been a long day travelling. In response to Expedia prompting us for a review of our stay we noted that the restaurant food was cold (we alerted the restaurant staff of this issue directly), and that the room description was inaccurate. In response to this review the male owner came to our room banging on the door at 9pm saying that we should leave if we’re not happy and he’ll tell Expedia you’ll get a refund. We’ve never experienced such appalling behaviour from an Innkeeper ever before. We were in our pyjamas quietly reading in our room listening to the live music downstairs (you can hear it even from upstairs at the back of the place) before he banged on the door and proceeded to berate us in an aggressive manner about the constructive review we had given. The other female owner joined her partner to continue to berate us about the review. We wish we had read the similar poor reviews beforehand as we would not have booked to stay here. Of note unfortunately I developed food poisoning overnight from eating at the restaurant. Their food practices need to be carefully examined.

We were all so wowed by the owners, facilities, dining experience, entertainment and overall cleanliness. Everything was so wonderful we will no doubt go back for a longer stay. Thank you for your hospitality!!

Lovely little place away from the city

We arrived at Crabbe Mountain Inn at about 3.30pm on 30/8 but the door of the guest entrance was locked and no one was inside. We waited till 4pm when a cooking lady showed up. She phoned the receptionist and finally a young man came at about 4.15pm. The promised check in time was 3pm, the host has breached the agreement. When he showed us the room, we found it was small and untidy with no private bathroom. We declined to accept because it did not match the photos on the listing. We asked for a full refund but young man said we needed to go through Expedia, the booking agent, their computer system could not do that. We left and booked another hotel. We contacted Expedia at night but the refund could not be done because the host refused. We later check their listing again and found they did not mention "share bathroom " on the room we booked as many other hosts did. That's the point that made us confused. As we did not use their service and they have broken their promise first, I could not see any reason for a refusal of refund.
