Tubo Hotel La Tatacoa

We really liked the hotel, the colours and the location. The view was very nice. We got upgraded to rooms with private bathrooms, because we were the only ones in the hotel. That was really nice! The lady was very kind and helped us arrange a bus to Neiva.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable, mainly because of the plastic (?) mattresses. I also missed a 'lounge' with hammocks, the chairs were all a bit hard. I would prefer to have the music a little lower in the morning as well in the evening. That would make the nature-experience better. The little dog should also not be on a leash the whole day. With the right education he will be a perfect dog for the hotel!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. WiFi was good. Breakfast was included, which is nice.

It is super basic. If you stay in basic tubo (maybe we didn't have the option to select a bigger) be prepared to not have any space for your luggage or stand up right. It is a bit out of town, 15 minute walk. Can be a bit noisy at night.

it was not as central as we thought (on booking it shows the wrong location), tube is very small without almost any space for luggage, tube gets really hot during the day so you need to put on air condition the whole night, no hot water in the shower

The room had air conditioning which was needed in the desert. A good sized pool and a restaurant on site with reasonable food. The breakfasts were good for a free breakfast and the hotel helped us organise a tour to the desert itself and a taxi to Nieva.

There were bugs in the room because the door didn't fit the frame 100% correctly. The pods are quite small and the shower had no shower head so was just a jet of water. It's quite far from town but we didn't really spend time in town so location was fine.
