Baymont by Wyndham Mobile/Tillmans Corner

Chair in room was badly stained, looked to be 20 years old. Bed had spring poking in your side. Everything looked ancient and well worn. Room definitely needs “fresher” looking furniture and more comfortable beds!

If there is any solid barometer of how well a hotel operates it’s the ice machine. The ice machine at the Baymont by Wyndham was not working. Note to self: always check the ice machine before checking in. Later, during the TV debacle, I was told we could go to the Red Roof inn next door and take their ice. After a day of getting rained out at the beach we were exhausted, so upon arrival, we were assigned Room 208. We immediately went upstairs with our luggage to see the bed had been stripped of its sheets and the room was still not cleaned. A housekeeping woman led me back to the front office and they gave me room 114. When I mentioned the ice machine wasn’t working, they told me it had just been fixed but that they would tell the owner. In an attempt to get settled, we found the TV didn’t work, so I went back to the office and asked for help, and then returned to 114. In their first attempt at fixing the problem, they sent someone to make sure the light switch on the wall was turned on because apparently the TV required the light switch -- on the wall -- to work. This was the first time in my life I had ever heard that one had to turn on the light switch next to the room door for other parts of the room to work. They then sent another person to come in and fix the TV and he was very helpful. While he adjusted something on the back of the TV, I noticed the mirror was broken and I pointed out we had just walked in and hadn’t had time to break a mirror, so the broken mirror was not something we did. The staff were all very friendly in the way that people on a certain notorious stimulant are friendly and often aren’t aware when they cross unspoken yet commonly understood boundaries. They also had solid reasons explaining why some of the basic necessities were working, as if they’d been rehearsing. Their sense of demoralization was clear in their persistent attempts to excuse the poor condition of the property. Later I walked over to the Red Roof Inn about 100 yards away and told the desk clerk I was told I could take ice next door. The temperature in the Red Roof Inn was stifling, likely in the mid-80s. The clerk was absorbed in whatever was happening on her phone and waved me by on around the corner and to the ice machine. Of course, the ice machine had a sign saying not to fill coolers and to only fill their hotel-provided ice buckets. I filled a grocery bag from the Winn Dixie. The owner, with an obviously disengaged staff, clearly has different standards for how his hotel should operate than most Americans are used to. While that’s fine, this is no Ramada-Del Rio, and I won’t be staying here again. I won’t stay in that gnarly Red Roof Inn either, but Red Roof already has a bad enough reputation to keep me away.

The pillow cases were brownish compared to the 1 newer pillowcase. The towels were brownish and 2 were torn. The sink was plugged up and the fixture was loose and moving around. Half of the electric plugs didn't work and one socket was damaged and pushed partially back into the wall near the sink. The microwave was not capable of cooking popcorn. The iron face was black and unusable. The ironing board cover was old and torn. Breakfast was bare minimum, and all of the juices were empty. The desk clerk couldn't find the person handling the couple of items they served, so he eventually changed the juice containers for me. The good: front desk people were very nice. The room had new and clean carpet.

As you walked into room it smelled misty. I’ve stayed in low rated places overnight but as long as bed and bed sheets smell clean I am fine. This was not the case here. Pillows smelled like sweat and filthy.

Front desk experience was superb!!! Professional efficient and courteous!!! Excellent experience

My wife and children did not feel comfortable staying there from the pictures and the location. I thought it would be good, but apparently it wasn’t at least not without a father there.

I don't know if it's a problem with all 3 star hotels & Wyndham hotels, but the floors are always dirty. We never saw services with mopping. Our feet were black everywhere we stayed. We had to tell the manager & show towels we used to wash our feet every night.

The staff was nice and friendly.

Roaches running around on the table, Coffee pot,refrigerator, and on the tv! The room had a horrible smell, the phone didn’t work. The beds felt damp. I called the front desk and told them, he said he could move us but my 7 year old was terrified. So he offered our money back and I took and went across the street to the Hilton

This was my 3rd stay there. Rooms are clean, updated and the beds are comfortable Housekeeping employees are very kind and helpful.
