The Palms Resort

I love love love this place. Can't say enough good things about it. Been staying here for last few years. This last time, though, i was a bit disappointed that i couldn't sleep as well because a couple and 2 little children were in the room next to mine, and i could hear them banging, jumping, screeching in the early mornings. Never had to deal with that before, I'm surprised they stayed here, it's not really kid oriented, there aren't kiddie water areas here, and the rooms are more for single people or couples with no children. That's not the The Palms' fault, though, for the most part it's a quiet, safe, wonderful place with a great, accommodating restaurant, clean rooms, beautiful, calm atmosphere.

It was a windy drizzly day with a feel like temperature of 47. We had a great time at the bar with great staff and guests.

We’ve been staying at The Palms a few times each year for about 15 years. It’s always a pleasurable stay and visit. And we will continue to stay with them when we come out to the Island.

Had everything you need a nice pool good views and nice cafe and bar.

The beach side restaurant is great.

Nice, small stay option. Prices are reasonable. Right on the beach.

This resort is pet friendly. That was one of my criteria. It’s supposed to be a non-smoking property. Folks are frequently smoking outside the rooms which I understand is allowed. There was some smoking in a room yesterday that was permeating my room occasionally, but today has been bad. Someone has been smoking in a room all day. It’s tolerable, but unpleasant and annoying. Otherwise the resort is cute and right off the beach. It has a mom and pop feel. The beach is clean. Plenty of sea gulls. The room has a microwave and a coffee maker and a refrigerator and a small sink in the kitchen. There is a table, chairs, a small sofa and a small dresser. I have only eaten at the restaurant once. The first person who approached me was not welcoming (it may have been because of the dogs- but I was in the outside portion of the restaurant where they are allowed ) but the excellent waiter and waitress more than made up for him. The meal was ok but not crave-able. The Caesar salad needs anchovies and lemon- more acid, and shaved cheese. I’m on a budget so I picked up groceries from Walmart and have been using them. Without a cooking surface in the room I have had to be creative. I learned how to make microwave scrambled eggs. I have not been in the pool yet. It is small but it looks inviting. The landscaping is thoughtful and attractive and the grounds are clean. There is a security person at night. The staff so far have been helpful. All in all this is a nice chill spot.
