"Comfortable hotel near the Harbour"

Hotel just a short walk from the railway station and also from the labour area. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent (though expensive) breakfast. Comfortable bedrooms with efficient air conditioning.

Slightly off centre but perfect for train station and several bus routes.Modern and comfortable,spacious room with excellent bed.Welcolming staff,bat and food available although we did not use.English plug sockets,very unusual in France.Glad we chose this hotel.

"Brilliant Breakfast."

The Best Western at La Rochelle was about as good as it gets with a three star hotel. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the staff kind and attentive. The car parking was ample and secure. Best of all was the breakfast...the clear winner on our holiday.

"Exceptional"

Loved this Hotel within walking distance to the Harbour, and quiet in the evenings, The staff were lovely: nothing was too much trouble, our twin room was light, bright, airy, with a lovely big window to open., good bathroom, and very clean. Breakfast was amazing and varied: lovely food, lovely staff, well worth having. we would definetly recommend this Hotel as we didnt need to hire a car, we explored the town on foot, and enjoyed every minute!

"A totally bad experience "

Our bad experience started from the minute we walked into the hotel. We were early and it had been raining heavily so we were keen to get dry. No such luck, no rooms available, even in another category. When we did finally check in to our room we found there was no fridge and the room was pretty stark. We enquired at Reception, no rooms have a fridge. The corridors are dark and it is left to the guest to find out that there are switches in the corridors to turn them on. On the first night our internet dropped out at least 10 times, but on the second day, it went down completely for nearly 24 hours. Throw in a short blackout altogether and a noisy air conditioner and you can see why I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. There was no communication from the manager about the Internet and only an apology when we enquired about progress for restoration. This isn’t what hospitality is about.
