Napier Art House Backpackers

It was a rainy day, and I was allowed to stay in the TV room until my afternoon bus left the city. The shower was perfect - easy to operate and no dangling coils. One bathroom just for women. Near 3 huge supermarkets.

No lights at each bunk.

so dead… like hardly anyone there at all so vibe felt a little off - not many young backpackers or the type at all

Friendly, comfortable place with friendly and helpful staff

Cozy and directly at the ocean. Not far from the major sights in Napier and also close to the large grocery chains. Very friendly and welcoming staff. I enjoyed my time.

The facilities could be nicer.

Arthur, the manager, was really lovely and welcoming. The location is awesome - close to the beach, city centre and supermarket. Parking is possible right in front of the door - 2 dollars per hour in between 8 am and 6 pm. Free parking is available further down the road.

The house is old and this shows in the bathrooms and rooms - it looks old and smells slightly damp. It's not bad, just an aesthetic thing.

Arthur was great, central location.

Arthur the manager was a real character and a true gentleman. Always willing to help and had a good sense of humor.
