Best Western Plus Palm Court Hotel

Helpful check in, very clean facility

While the room was over all nice and property in a great location, my overall experience was significantly impacted by a few key issues. The room was nicely appointed, but unfortunately, a major problem with the window made for a very poor night's sleep. The window was stuck in an open position and could not be closed, leaving me exposed to excessive noise throughout the night. My room overlooked the dumpster area, so I was woken up early by the sound of trash collection. Just when I thought I could go back to sleep, the noise from a passing train disrupted me again. This is an issue that should have been caught by housekeeping and addressed by maintenance before a guest checked in. It’s unacceptable to have a window that cannot be shut, especially in a location with known noise disturbances. The check-in experience was also disappointing. The front desk associate working on the evening of February 24 did not acknowledge me upon arrival, did not make eye contact, and remained on the phone without letting me know he would assist me shortly. I waited about 10 minutes before receiving any attention, which did not make for a welcoming first impression. On the other hand, the staff member working in the morning was excellent—friendly, professional, and helpful. While the hotel has positives, the combination of a poor check-in experience and a terrible night’s sleep due to the window issue really overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable stay. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and ensures that maintenance and customer service are given proper attention moving forward.

Location was convenient.

The property was very nice. A restaurant and bar connected to the hotel provided easy access to dining. Location was in the heart of Davis so was easy to walk to shops & restaurants.

The property was fairly noisy at night with the late night student partying outside the hotel and the train. We were provided ear plugs to help with the noise.
