Rooms were clean and large. Was a great value with booking.com.

Unfortunately the room next to me was a smoking room. They were smoking weed (which I could smell in my room) both days and up late making a lot of noise. No maid service unless requested. I thought they'd at least make the bed and give new towels. Only toasted breakfast or cereal and no decaf coffee! Pictures of the hotel online were definitely taken years ago.... The place is showing its age and needs some cosmetic updates. Most of the TV channels you don't have access to.

As usual, my room at the Garden State Inn was nice and clean. And despite the fact that my room was right on the White Horse Pike, it was quiet, and I got a good sleep. This is the one motel I return to repeatedly whenever I visit the Atlantic City/Ventnor area, for two reasons: I need an inexpensive hotel because I have a very tight budget, but it also has to be CLEAN (whereas some of the other affordable hotels are less than clean). And, if this isn't too weird to mention, the bedside lighting in the room is comforting and warm, whereas I've stayed in other local hotels where the only lighting was, say, a ceiling light over the bed. How can you read/rest with that? (And you have to get up to turn it off.) I also noticed a new chair in my room that I hadn't seen on previous visits, so it looks like they are adding/upgrading some of the furniture.

The door to my room (#206) was very hard to open (at first I thought I had the wrong key card), and it was also hard to close once you were inside, but it just turned out to be stuck. So, that should probably be repaired. But it was a minor problem. Every time I've come in the past, the pool has been closed. I didn't check this time, but I assume it was still closed. (But I don't know for a fact that this is true.)

The bed was comfortable and clean. The room had lamps with extra outlets on them. The continental breakfast was nice.

Why I wouldn’t put in the didn’t like. This is what I feel needs improving. Walls need a fresh coat of paint. Curtains and bed skirts need cleaning or to be updated. With that said, the bed sheets were

Very clean and very quiet excellent place to relax very peaceful excellent staff plus a decent continental breakfast.I give it a 10.Its summer pool should be open shortly.
