Sonder Solarena

Our day was fine. The hotel was clean. The room was a decent size. The parking situation was very tight and limited however, the hotel is in a great location, biking distance to the beach, food and shopping.

The room was adequate. The location of the room was facing the main street, so it was very loud through the night. the pool was clean but not inviting.

Just a quick walk away from Newport Beach. Hotel staff were very nice and the place was clean. Easy check in and easy check out.

Super clean rooms. Clean comfy beds. Air conditioning was great. So nice to have a mini fridge in the room and quick to run down to the lounge and use microwaves when needed. Pool was so nice and clean. Literally across the street from the beach. All good things to say about our stay!

Great location with easy access to the beach, dining and coffee shop. It was hard to get a good night sleep because of the noise coming from the street and the air conditioning unit. The shower felt uncomfortable with water spilling everywhere, but a modern shower head would be an easy fix.

Nice hotel in great location—walk to beach and several restaurants. Only downside was a wonky coffee maker but I’m sure they would have changed it out if I’d asked (just went out for breakfast instead)! Modern feeling and clean.

This was the perfect beach hotel. We were able to easily walk to a very nice family friendly beach. There were a handful of restaurants close by. Breakfast could have been easier if they had some basics in the hotel lounge.

Location is great but the place itself is worth skipping. Sonder is essentially a hotel airbnb, which I am not a fan of. The entire interior from lobby to room is updated nicely but the room we got was so overused and it smelled very strong of mildew in the restroom. The shower head also had one working setting and it was the jet setting, the others would not work. The front staff is really kind and the lounge was awesome. Really light and bright with free coffee and other amenities like fridges and microwave. The lighting of the actual room was really dark. Throughout the night it was slightly noisy as you can hear people in the hallway and right outside the window downstairs. The beds and pillows were not comfy and it was just a bit of an uncomfortable stay however we really only were there to rest so it did the trick.

Killer location. Great food near by and coffee. And of course a few feet to the beach. Staff is top notch and we’re very willing to offer help with anything and everything. They have all kinds of fun things you can use at the beach to borrow and they loved sharing! Only stinky part is the room cleanliness was rough. Weird picks for high use hotel items. Not sure they are really appropriate. You can tell they were picked by someone who didn’t have the best knowledge. That said, location, location, location! So……
