Villa San Domenico

Location was excellent, owners very welcoming, home cooked local food was delicious and the setting in a beautiful mountain town was delightful.

A fabulous stay in Morano Calabro, a lovely little hill top town with a castle right at the top boasting stunning views. We were greeted by staff who couldn't do enough for us, including cooking a fantastic evening meal - fresh and really tasty, washed down with home made digestifs. Breakfast was good with some made jams and local food. Parking on site, although quite a steep climb up the drive to get there!

Only slight gripe was that the air conditioning in the room wasn't great - resulting in a hot night's sleep at the end of July.

We really loved our stay here, we only had one night. The hosts were very friendly and couldn’t do anything more for you. We had dinner there, it was fantastic and typical food of the region. Parking on site and great wifi. Everything was very clean Breakfast was very good and again typical food of the region. Could have stayed longer.

Amazing staff who greeted us warmly and were very helpful. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner with them and WOW, everything so fresh, home-made and delicious. The place is super well located, right in front of the town hall. It's quiet, comfortable, will be back one day! Grazie!

Quirky to say the least but very comfortable. Staff were lovely and tried their best. Breakfast simple but sufficient.

Amazing breakfast

The location of the property was perfect, and easy to get to, with convenient parking on the property, up a steep cobbled driveway. The elegant building was very comfortable and Tanya, was helpful from my arrival to departure. Plus the breakfast and dinner service were both very nice.

This is a special place. The photos on the Booking.com site are incredibly appealing and the reality even more so. Note than many reviews mention Tania - as well they should. She checks you in, serves you breakfast, serves you dinner, makes all the preserves and pretty much works a twenty hour day without ever seeming to tire. Unfailingly warm and courteous. While it wasn't our prior intention to eat dinner in the hotel each evening we did and we were so pleased with that decision. The entire ambiance harks back to a time when one checked into a country hotel and stayed there. The room was large and luxurious in a 19th century manner. Ample free parking in the courtyard. We certainly hope to return.

Very friendly staff / owners and it appears they do all themselves there so all is genuine!
