Family Retreat on Anderson

Location was good and quiet. Key collection was easy an property managers were easy to reach and contact. But that's about it. Till you enter the house and it all goes downhill from there.

I don't like to leave negative reviews as I myself am a business owner. I cannot ignore this one. Our recent stay at this property left much to be desired. Despite our anticipation for a relaxing holiday, we were met with disappointment due to several issues. The property has 1 bathrooma nd 1 toilet. The listing reads as if there are 2. No thats misleading. We used 1 bathroom and toilet for 7 people including 2 elderly people. The property's carpets were extremely dated, dusty, and emitted an unpleasant odor. The condition of the carpets was so poor that both our elderly parents and children experienced continuous sneezing throughout our four-day stay. In fact, we went through two boxes of Zyrtec in an attempt to alleviate the discomfort. Despite bringing this to the attention of the property manager, our concerns were dismissed by the owner, who insisted that the property was clean. Shockingly, we were informed that no cleaner would be sent, and we were left with the option to reclean using the provided vacuum cleaner – a task we found ourselves doing during our supposed holiday. Moreover, despite our efforts to ventilate the space by opening doors and windows, the situation only worsened upon our return from outdoor activities. While some areas of the property boasted vinyl flooring, the carpeted sections were in dire need of an upgrade to a more hygienic and modern flooring solution. I went to Ray White the property manager and they offered another property without a refund. That was a bit of a joke. Overall, our experience at this property was nothing short of bad. We had hoped for a rejuvenating getaway but were instead met with discomfort and frustration. It's disappointing that the property did not meet our expectations, and we would caution others against booking based on our experience unless the carpets are removed.

I was misled by their listing to say that there were 2 bathrooms on the property and when I found that there was only one for 8 people the managing agent was not helpful at all just saying that it wasn’t their fault and the owners. They did not try to resolve the situation or try to make things better or compensate. Only offered another property at $3000 (3x more )without any credit from the rental paid . Alternatively cancel the booking and make my mother endure another 3 hour drive home . This trip was with my frail 87 year old mother who was highly stressed with only one bathroom as she she has elderly needs. The agent and the landlord was Totally unsympathetic of the situation . No compensation of rental reduction or anything at all. Screen clearly states 2 bathrooms.
