Comfort Inn Mount Vernon Downtown

Nice hotel in a very small town. Limited places to eat dinner. Very close and convenient to Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail

The room was clean and easy to find , but we had a major problem with the bed they were very high off the floor It was almost impossible to get in to. Really need a stool for bed s this high.bwr hab problem and I imagine anyone would.

It’s a good motel

The room was super clean. For example, There were two full length mirrors and also one over the sink area. They were spotless. Not a smear or spot on any of them. Very impressive.

I would have scored 0 stars if I could! If you like the smell of cigarette ash trays, damp and urine then this accommodation is definitely for you. We booked the comfort in for 3 nights in August as we were visiting mount vernon for a wedding. We arrived on the first evening and entered our room to be slapped in the face by an awful smell. The room itself smelt like damp, mould and cigarettes/ash trays. The bathroom smelt so strongly of urine. I went to the reception on the first evening to request an alternate room, they reported that they were fully booked and to try again in the morning. After a terrible night trying to sleep in the dungeon of doom I went back to reception. This time it was a different member of staff. They reported back that there were no rooms available all weekend and his colleague fobbed me off. I discussed with the hotel receptionist why I wasn’t happy with my room and if they couldn’t provide an alternate room I would have to find alternate accommodation. I also requested my money back for the 2 nights I wasn’t staying at the “not so comfort inn”. The staff member understood and agreed with us & apologised for the experience we had & told us that a refund had been issued. Nearly one month on from this experience I am still waiting for the funds to be refunded and the manager of the “Not so comfort inn” said that his member of staff was incorrect by telling me I was getting a refund. To cut a very long story short, for what I paid for this accommodation you would expect it to be an above average hotel, what we experienced was a very under budget motel and that is probably being generous! The alternate accommodation we found was The Mount Vernon Grand Hotel and we actually paid less than what we paid for the dungeon of doom. The stay at the mount vernon Grand hotel was amazing & I couldn’t recommend them enough. To the manager at the “Not so comfort Inn” thank you for making us realise that we should never book a comfort inn again & to hopefully many more people after reading about my experience.

very nice room, good location

The staff was outstanding!! We were there for our grandson's birthday and they gave us an extra hour for checkout so we could get a swim in with his friends. The exterior was very well maintained and the inside was very clean as well. The location was perfect for walking to downtown restaurants and across the street from a nice children's museum. I have only one complaint. The toilet was clearly extremely old. It was so low to the ground every time we used it we felt like we were going to fall down. An elderly person would have an extremely difficult time with them. It appeared to be family run, and everyone was friendly and there was always someone ready to answer questions and assist.

The room was very practical, with fridge & microwave. Love the fact that swimming pool is available even though I didn’t use it. Location is quiet & central. However Housekeeping never did any service during my 3-night stay.
