Lovely room, very central. Nice balconies

Some nights inc sundays and wednesdays the pubs are extraordinarily loud until midnight. Seemed louder in the room than outside.

Location

Where do I begin. After three nights at the Mantra on the Inlet, I can confidently say I won't be returning — and I'll be steering clear of any Mantra property in Port Douglas going forward. The cleanliness was appalling. The floors were so filthy that walking without shoes left the soles of your feet black. Walls and skirting boards were streaked with food and coffee stains, and the sheets — which should be the one thing a hotel gets right — had a dirty mark and a small blood stain on them. Simply unacceptable. The room overlooked one of the two nearby pubs, with commercial AC units mounted on the pub rooftop directly below the balcony. Any thought of relaxing outside was quickly abandoned. On the practical side, the hotel advertises luggage lift access, but to actually use it you first have to negotiate a gauntlet of bulging laundry bags blocking the way — making it virtually impossible. The stairwells, carpeted in black, were dangerously poorly lit during the day, making it difficult to judge depth on the stairs. And the dishwasher had been run but left completely unpacked — a minor point, but indicative of the overall lack of attention to detail. For the price and the supposed standard, this stay was a significant disappointment. Three nights I won't be getting back.

"If location is your priority above everything else this is a great spot with lovely rooms."

The location is amazing if you need to be on the main strip for an event (we were at a wedding)

The pool is very small and very very cold (even the kids didn’t use it), the bag lift didn’t work so had to carry suitcases up the stairs.

The property was close to everything

The customer service from the Mantra head office was appalling! We arrived after hours and were not advised we needed our credit card number to provide to get in. We did not have this on us and the lady on the phone was rude and did not care about our situation. She just kept repeating "you need your CC number". She showed ZERO care to help us with our situation (being locked out of our accommodation with no where to go). ZERO sympathy, care. Luckily we managed to get onto someone local who helped us right away. The customer service lady was horrible! Worst customer service I have had.

Good location

There was no staff.. checking was difficult.. no clear messages or signs saying how to get the key. The room was so dusty it gave my husband allergies he had to take antihistamines just to be in there. Hot tub was tiny. Dirty floor and blanket
