Hirauchi Hot Spot

Honestly the most comfortable beds I've slept in over 6 Japan trips with a cumulative 5 months traveled in this country. Would come back here just for the beds! The home itself was beautiful, easy to find, and had a large parking area. Kotatsu was very cozy and comfortable, and it was nice to have a washer/dryer, kitchen amenities, etc. I also want to highlight the amazing hospitality, for the owners helped us book car rental, and when we got stranded on yakushima due to inclement weather (with all flights and ferries cancelled), they reached out immediately to let us know about the cancellations and helped us find accommodation last minute in another one of their properties down the road (as this one has already been previously booked), which was also SO cozy and beautiful. They even spoke with the car rental agency for us and organized our new drop off time/location. Such amazing service, and will no question stay at this property (or one of their other properties) next time I am in yakushima :)

Everything. If I ever return to Yakushima I really hope I can stay here again. It was also really helpful that the owners helped us in getting a rental car.

Beautiful house in a nice, a bit remote area but there a a few good restaurants close by. A car is recommended but can be organized via the owners. There’s a fully equipped kitchen and a yakiniku bbq.

Absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. Close to A-Coop grocery store with delicious food options. Generous, flexible, and responsive hosts. There may come a time in your planning process where you question whether it’s easier to stick to bigger areas like Anbo or Miyanoura. Resist this thought and stay at Hirauchi Hot Spot. It’s easy to drive to attractions like Yakisugi Land and Shiratani Unsuikyo, but also uniquely positioned to visit Hirauchi Onsen at night. Imagine yourself in a warm, rocky pool under the stars, with the wild ocean crashing before you. It’s just you and a few locals, enjoying the gifts of nature. It’s an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Stay at Hirauchi Hot Spot and don’t miss out.
