Lake Okoboji Resort and Conference Center

Good

Upon arrival the guy working at the front desk was very uninviting and had interesting comments while checking in. The room was clean enough but you can tell they only spot check when they do clean. The only thing that was decent out of my stay was they had an ice maker that filled my cooler and the location in the town was well. Very mid to low grade hotel. If you are looking for something cheap this is the type of hotel you’re looking for. But this is nothing fancy.

Pros- It is a convienent place to stay if you are going to go golfing and just need a place to sleep. And the waffles. The restaurant is good food but dont be in a hurry if going there. Check in was easy and didnt take long. There was plenty of parking for everyone. Cons-The ac unit cover kept falling off, there were fruit flies and other little flies all over the towels and all over and in the shower. The breakfast- the biscuits were mush, the sausage were gray, but if your hungry its food.

property needs a total renovation to be updated.

We stayed in and loved the suite. Family stayed just above us. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast had fruit and waffles- so something for everyone. Outdoor pool was what we preferred and it was clean with plenty of seating area around it. Outdoor patio had tables with fire pit. Propane at tables happened to be empty, so waitress in restaurant found some alternative way for us to grill marshmallows. She was a rock star!! Kids loved arcade area- though my pocket book could have done without. Great location. Easy to find and close to all activities.

Nice rooms. Also enjoyed the patio outside the rooms. Sliding glass door very hard to open though.

The AC was not on in the room at all when I got there so the room was extremely hot and took a while to cool down. The comforter had brown stains on the bottom so didn’t want to use that particular bed. The hallways were very warm also and humid like the AC wasn’t working at all. It was fine for just staying overnight because I came for an event and wasn’t there other than to sleep the night.

It was ok. Room smelled musty and spiders in bathtub.

Employees working were very nice. Rooms were musty smelling and warm, they did not have the room we paid for available but they worked to get us what would work for our family. However, we did not receive any compensation for the lower value room we had to be switched to. They said this was something that was on Expedia not them so nothing I could do there. They have breakfast however everything is just microwaved in a closet. The pools were nice for the kids! However the property definitely needs updating. The sliding doors did not slide and the blankets all had stains on them. I would not return here but it did the job this time.
