Alfama, Bright Spacious W/ Terrace Apartment, By TimeCooler

Our stay at the Bright & Spacious Alfama Apartment was absolutely fantastic. The apartment was immaculately clean, with generous space that made it feel like a true home away from home. The furniture was incredibly comfortable, with cozy beds and a double sofa bed that made relaxation easy after a day of exploring. There’s also a dining table and extra chairs provided for more seating options. The kitchen was well-stocked with plenty of utensils, plates, and pots, as well as essential appliances like a coffee machine, toaster, microwave, fridge, washing machine and also a juicer which my daughters loved making fresh orange juice in. The host left us cooking oils, tea, coffee, and sugar. There was plenty of toilet rolls, shampoo, shower gel, hand wash, washing liquid, tissues, hair dryer and three towels per person added to the convenience. Thoughtful touches like side tables with table lamps in the bedrooms and a large floor lamp in the living room together with a beautiful coffee table and decoration stand with beautiful centre pieces as well as wall decorations gives this place a cozy, homely feel. The host even left an EU to UK plug adapter. There was also iron & ironing board provided. The best thing as a visitor was the apartment’s location which was perfect—just a short walk to all the main attractions in Alfama. Access was simple with building and apartment codes, so there was no waiting for a host. When you confirm the booking, the host sends you the apartment manual which has step-by-step instructions from how to enter the apartment to how to use everything in the apartment as well as emergency contacts. The host was not only incredibly friendly but also prompt in responding to any inquiries. When I accidentally broke the shampoo bottle, the host was understanding and didn’t charge me extra, which I really appreciated. Overall, my experience was seamless and delightful, and I highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting the area.

We loved everything but here are somethings that can be considered for further improvement: 1: More mirrors, may be add a couple of full length free standing mirrors. One in the small room and one in the living area. As I was visiting with my four daughters, we felt the need of more mirrors. 2: Due to not much natural light in the building, consider adding lots of white ceiling lighting to give the space brighter feel. 3: Sometimes the toilet drain smell a bit but I don’t know if there’s something to do with the city’s swerve system or something that can be fixed internally.

The apartment is spacious. It looks just like in the pictures but smaller.

I would say it fits 6 people, not 8. There are 2 bathrooms but only one shower, it was quite an issue for our group. Both of the bathrooms smell like sewage and need maintenance. The staff was helpful

Lovely neighborhood and we were able to walk to the regional train station from the apartment in less than 5min. The terrace was lovely and the bedrooms comfortable.

Unfortunately our driver wasn't able to drop us off very close to the building because the small streets are limited to local traffic. It made lugging out bags and small child difficult. The apartment wasn't particularly child-friendly for small kids. My 4 yr old tried to find every opportunity to lean out of the open windows and terrace wall.

Excellent location. Comfy beds. Clean apartment. Nice and spacious. Excellent communication from hosts before stay.

Wss difficult to find as we arrived late at night. (Hosts had given us the exact address so not their fault). Then, we couldn't open front door initially. It needs to be pulled and then pushed to unclick but because it was so late at night we found it very stressful...maybe include in the info pack the trick to opening the front door :)

The apartment et is very nice, stylish and comfortable.

Unfortunately the street below is quite noisy in the night and even in the morning.

Amenities were quite good, location was great. One of bedrooms very spacious

The smell from. The drains in the shower was awful it was difficult to ignore but possibly due to old building and drainage etc.
