Atholl Palace Hotel

A luxury hotel that absolutely earns that title and meets the standard that you would expect. Even though the hotel property is not very far from the town of Pitlochry--walking into town and back is no great strain--the property envelopes you in calm and luxury. The woodland paths create distance between you and the mad world. The lobby full of sofas and stuffed chairs invites a lingering stay--a book and an afternoon are all you need. We stayed in a fairly basic room, but it was immaculate and luxurious, with lush and peaceful views down the valley. The staff are exceptional--we were greeted with samples of the hotel's whisky liqueur, which itself was perfect. We enjoyed the "gym" facilities downstairs. Breakfast was absolutely exceptional. After our travels, it was like walking into another world entirely. And the building itself is beautiful. I can't say enough about the experience.

We enjoyed our stay at the Palace. On one of our early sightseeing mornings, we left before breakfast was scheduled to be served. They set up a boxed meal for us that morning. A nice picturesque property.

Was excellent

This was the best resort we stayed in during our trip. From the imposing entrance every aspect is relaxing and the food is excellent. There is an interesting museum in the hotel.

Staying in a castle has always been in my bucket list! This did not disappoint. It is beautiful with stunning views. Even though we had a “fire drill” at 2:30am (rain made its way to the alarm system, which cause it to go off), it just added to the experience and created another memory!! It’s also great that it is walking distance to the village of Pitlochry, especially since taxis are very sparse!! I would most definitely stay there again!

Staff in restaurant didn’t seem happy & food not up to usual standard. We thought it rather pricey for 2 courses of this quality- £45pp. Bedroom staff were polite & helpful.

Wonderful night's stay. Staff welcoming, food excellent, rooms clean, very comfortable and quaint. Loved the location and the beautiful gardens. Would love to come again for a longer stay.

We were given a disabled room that we did not ask for which was at the back of the hotel and to get to it we had to go through a very long busy restaurant with people having there meals. The corridor to this room was definitely needing aired. The room had a fridge that made a noise all night so we switched it off and there was no bedside lamp. Otherwise a nice stay.

This was by far our worst stay whilst visiting the UK. The staff were so rude and unfriendly from beginning to end.
