Capri Laguna on the Beach - A Boutique Hotel

Loved my experience with the hotel-the staff is nice, Morgan at front desk was extremely hospitable and very accommodating. I just don’t think pricing matches what we get but overall would still book it as it’s convenient and pretty for a great staycation.

I have been a regular at this hotel for years and each time Bashir, Nick, and Esmeralda make sure me and my family have a wonderful/ special stay. They are very accommodating with kids and add personal touches to make your stay very nice. I cannot wait to return - Thank you Lara

Direkt am Strand gelegen ein paradiesisch schönes Hotel mit vielen kleinen, für alle Gäste nutzbaren Plätzen mit Meeresblick, wunderschönen Pflanzen und großzügiger, gemütlicher Lobby, wo ein köstliches Frühstück serviert wird. Personal ist sehr kompetent und freundlich, vor allem Manager Nick hat uns beeindruckt mit seinem Wissen über die Gegend und der Kompetenz, mit der er auch Zusatzwünsche regelte. Direkter Zugang zum Strand mit eigenen Liegestühlen und Schirmen.

Beautiful views from the room and just steps to the beach! The overall property is quite small and has signs of wear

The bed was extremely firm and pillows were very flat. The shower head had build and shower pressure was disappointing. The tv’s apps feature was not working the entire stay, there was a continuous error message that there was no internet connection. The ac unit was also the loudest ac unit I have ever heard, it drowned out the sound of the waves at night. There was also no screen on the windows so leaving them open was questionable due to bugs and birds that were always just yards away.

Cozy, Clean, and Full of Charm Right on the Beach. I was looking for a beachfront hotel that was clean, comfortable, and truly walk-out-to-the-sand, and Capri Laguna was exactly that. It sits right next door to Surf & Sand, sharing the same beach, but for about half the price. That alone makes it such a great find. This hotel is not overly fancy or flashy, and that is part of what I loved about it. It has a cozy, rustic, European charm. My oceanfront room was super clean and had everything I needed — a king bed, a walk-in shower, a small kitchenette, a dining table, and a balcony overlooking the sea. Being able to walk right onto the sand was exactly what I was hoping for. There is no restaurant on site, but that was not an issue at all because there are plenty nearby, including next door at Surf & Sand. The complimentary continental breakfast was also a nice surprise, with plenty of protein for me. What really made this stay special was the kindness of the team. Nick, the manager, was exceptional. He had a bouquet of roses sent to our room to thank my husband and me for staying, which was such a thoughtful touch. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring with every guest. Bachir and Morgan were also part of that same kind, caring team and helped make the stay feel so personal and welcoming. I came here to write a memoir for my daughter, and sitting in front of the ocean gave me the perfect space to do that. I stayed out on my balcony facing the sea until the very last minute of the last day. They gave me a late checkout, and then, as I was packing my car around noon, Nick said, “Why don’t you stay until sunset and enjoy?” I needed to plug in my computer, and they helped set me up on the patio right in front of the ocean with a table, umbrella, and power. Nick even filled my vase with fresh cold water and added a couple of fresh flowers to the table. It was such a lovely gesture and made the whole experience feel even more special. I cannot wait to come back, and next time I am bringing my family. Staying in Laguna right on the ocean, with the sand at your feet, does not have to be so expensive. Capri Laguna was clean, cozy, charming, and filled with genuine hospitality.

For nearly 20 years, my wife and I have been coming to the Capri Laguna for our little getaway, and it never loses its magic. Even though we live fairly close by, the moment we arrive, it feels like we have been transported somewhere along the coast of Greece or Italy. There is something so peaceful, intimate, and timeless about this place that instantly helps us disconnect and recharge. We recently stayed to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and once again, the Capri made it feel incredibly special. When we walked into our room, we were greeted by a bottle of wine and a beautiful arrangement of roses. Such a thoughtful gesture, and one that truly made a huge impact on our stay. What continues to make this place so special, beyond the stunning setting, is the team. Nick, Bachir, and Morgan are absolutely the best. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality are a big part of why we have returned year after year for two decades. The Capri Laguna is more than a hotel to us. It is a tradition, a memory-maker, and one of our favorite places in the world. We cannot wait for our next visit.

This hotel (motel) is really really beautiful from the back side, but from the front, you'd be in disbelief that it's the same place.. From the back, this place looks like it's on a cliff in Europe - absolutely breathtaking views, beach access when the tide isnt too high, chairs and umbrellas etc. Front looks like a run down Motel. I personally loved that charm though .. and really, you cannot beat the location and views. There is also a heated pool in the courtyard. Free breakfast looked decent although we didn't partake, it's definitely a nice touch. You also can't beat that they have free parking! The lot is a little bit crowded and so is the second lot, but again, it really is a treat given how expensive a parking space is at other hotels in the area. (PS PS, if you don't NEED a car and are really only staying in Laguna, there is a free Laguna Beach trolley that runs the entire length of Laguna down to Dana Point Ritz Carlton. totally take advantage of that!) Location on beach + proximity to rest of Laguna 10/10, service, 10/10 (looks like they give out complimentary cookies at Check in, we were not offered one but watched them offered to other guests LOL) What I really didn't like, and why I wouldn't choose to stay here again and would sooner spend more money and stay at the 5 star beachfront hotel next door, was our room... we had an OceanFront Queen room. It was super cramped (totally not the biggest deal) but the bed and bathroom really grossed me out. The bed's linens were pilled from being over washed, which caused things to stick to them (for example, upon arrival there were hairs stuck to the sheets ... so in the bed there were strangers hair..) The top sheet/comforter was a blue blanket covered by a duvet cover that appeared to just be a white sheet. Totally fine if the "cover" stayed shut but the blue blanket was always peaking out (that always repulses me as I have no idea if a hotel is washing that regularly or just the duvet portion...) In addition to the sheets, the bathroom was rough - the shower had little to no water pressure at all. It was virtually a sprinkling from the ceiling (shower head covered in limescale)... very difficult to shower thoroughly so we felt pretty disgusting our entire stay. A lot of the room/the shower seemed to be salt damaged from the proximity to the ocean / beach, which i understand, but i think the shower head was bordering unacceptable... The air conditioning here is a loud floor unit ... that wouldn't have bothered me if the room wasn't so cramped to begin with. It's really not a big deal but it was pretty difficult to keep our room cold even with how teeny tiny the room was... if you're sensitive to sleeping in a warm room this may not be the place for you (we tossed and turned all night).. I should have told the front desk about the sheets having hair attached to them being so worn out / mentioned the shower head (which took me longer to notice than the sheets as i checked the bed when i arrived and didn't shower until hours later), but knowing this is a 2 star hotel, and the price I paid (great deal considering the location and weather we got...) + i didn't want them to move me to a room that didn't have that tremendous view. We sucked it up for the couple of nights. Perhaps just my room was motel-grade and different, and maybe more expensive rooms were nicer, cleaner, and better updated? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt based on other positive reviews. But again, if you're like me and care about bed hygiene and the shower actually making you feel cleaner than when you stepped in.. you miiiight want to invest in a better hotel.
