Holiday Inn Express & Suites Raleigh NE - Medical Ctr Area by IHG

Nice breakfast buffet with many options to choose from. Many dining options within walking distance. Property/room conditions are below Holiday Inn standards.

The hotel smells really bad. The ac in our room worked but never got the room cold. The area surrounding the hotel is not the greatest area. There are transient people everywhere. I almost ran over someone who was panhandling when I drove in the first night. The lobby areas are very hot and I think it’s because they don’t rub the air conditioning. There was a terrible smell throughout the whole hotel. The pool was closed so my kids were disappointed that they couldn’t use the pool. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was it had a pool and holiday inns are typically nice clean hotels. This one was very disappointing

This was not a bad hotel at all. It was clean, the staff and front desk were friendly, and breakfast was typical of a holiday inn express. I know everyone’s hotel experience is unique, but this hotel doesn’t deserve the negative reviews I saw, glad I gave them a chance. Yes, it’s on a busy road, if that bothers you go somewhere else. Did it bother me? Not at all. It’s a safe area, although not really walkable (because of the traffic). The pool was closed during our stay.

Very clean room but the shower didn't have good water pressure. Lots of sputtering when i was trying to shower.

Comfortable beds, great free breakfast, responsive to concerns. Our in-room AC wasn't cooling properly, especially in the afternoons. A maintenance man came within 30 mins and corrected the issue promptly. They were appropriately accommodating and welcoming

TV in our room wouldn't allow us to cast to it from our devices. Reported it as an issue and I was offered a new room in order to resolve the problem.... This was discovered after we unpacked. We didn't opt for that but the option was presented to us with the unfortunate probability that another room may have the same issue. The casting/Internet connect to tvs needs to be fixed as it is presently an issue. Swimming pool was also closed at what would be a peak time for it to be open - mid/end July. Oh and if you can't get to the free breakfast (offered 6:30-9:30) before 9am, you would want to just skip it all together.
