The Sands Motel

Excellent manager of the property. Rooms were clean and adequate. This Motel is good enough that I will return again. The Sands is very good value for the money!

I loved this small, family-owned hotel. It was exceptionally clean, homey and comfortable, and really inexpensive and convenient. Note that it is an old hotel, updated and clean for sure, but it is not a “modern” facility with large rooms you find these days. That said, i would stay here any time I’m in Boulder City. I loved the owners and the staff, and the facilities met my needs perfectly — inexpensive, clean, quiet, and within walking distance of good food and good morning coffee.

We had six rooms -- four of the small Queen rooms plus the King room and Double Queen with a kitchenette. This property has obviously been recently renovated and has a very clean, mid-century modern feel. The beds were comfortable and the little kitchen area in the Queen room was so cute with the period-looking Frigidaire and microwave. One of our group had an issue with the toilet running and it was fixed the same day. The on-property staff were very nice and accommodating. There was very little noise even though this is on the "main drag." So many great little shops, cafes, restaurants and bars within a short walking distance!

It would be nice to have a full-length mirror in the room. The in-wall A/C unit is pretty loud which would have been problematic if we had needed it to run all night, which we didn't.

For the price, our room...and we've has this exact room previously...is very spacious. It's also very comfortable. A mini fridge is provided, which is nice. All in all, it's a great room, particularly in terms of value.

This is a small nitpick, but the shower...at least the one in this room...seems to be designed for a shorter than average person. That said, the water pressure is excellent, and the temperature gets to just the right amount of heat. You may have to bend down a bit to wash your hair, but that's okay.
