Vivanta Bengaluru Residency Road

Had a really pleasant stay at Taj Vivanta. The property is well maintained, rooms are comfortable, and everything felt smooth and well managed from check-in to check-out. What stood out the most was the staff, Anand, Arun, Baisaku, and Rajkumar at the restaurant were genuinely helpful and attentive without being over the top. They made sure we were comfortable and were always around when needed, which made the stay feel more personal. Overall, a very good experience. It’s a place I’d definitely consider coming back to and would recommend to others looking for a reliable, comfortable stay.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the shopping district, with plenty of shops and dining options nearby. Service from Sahana and the front office team was good but was the only positive aspect of the stay. The property itself feels dated. Rooms, lifts, and facilities are old, and the website images are quite misleading. There was no hot water in the shower on the first night. The restaurant experience was far below what one would expect from a five-star hotel. The dining area is too small for a property of this size, and the staff seemed overwhelmed even with a normal crowd. There was no one managing the entrance, leaving guests to find their own seats with no clarity on table availability—resulting in my table being taken midway through breakfast. The breakfast spread was limited and of poor quality. The buffet dinner was equally disappointing, with about 90% local dishes—mostly spicy and vegetarian—which may not appeal to international guests. The set menu was slightly better, with some effort in quality and presentation. The swimming pool area was in a shocking state. Bird droppings were all over the floor and likely in the pool itself. There was a visible layer of muck and feathers in the water, making it both unpleasant and a potential health hazard. A tray of water had been placed beside the pool for birds, which only seemed to worsen the issue—it would be more appropriate to position this away from the pool area. Considering that the rates are comparable to other, better 5 star hotels in the city, I would be unlikely to return.
