Dee Jay Beach Resort

Family friendly !! We always stay prior to our cruise. Fabulous place to stay quiet clean accomidations and have stayed numerous times. My kids love the owners who stay in site. We are repeat guests and always get treated special. Highly recommended.

By far the WORST experience I've ever had in a hotel . Extremely rude staff. There's an old lady in the front office that's simply outrageously rude and speaks very poor english. She's completely mad. The rooms are dirty, filthy, the bed smells really bad, the neighborhood looks dangerous and there is a sign inside the room that says there might be trespassers and they're not responsible for anything they might steal, even if it's in the safe box. Do NOT come here.

Just spent five days at Dee Jays. Wife had graduated from Keiser U. . We decided not too rent a car but we did use Uber to get to Keiser a couple of times. We needed the exercise and most things we was within a .5 to 1 mile walk. The one bedroom apartment was huge. Beds were great. Apartment was clean. Beach across the street. Quite place were I could go out anytime without trouble. Now, as far as Maria , I feel like I made a new friend. I could ask her anything. She is wonderful. If you want to come to the beach and have a home away from home, COME HERE. thank You Maria.

Love the location across the street from the beach on quiet El Mar Drive and within walking distance of many shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel is older but well maintained and clean. I had a 1 BR apt with a full kitchen and ample closet space. Furniture is a mish mash assortment. Nothing fancy and very basic. Nice small pool in backyard. My main complaint was the bathroom was in need of an update, especially the tub and shower.

Just spent a week in Ft. Lauderdale by the Sea. Great location for shopping, fantastic restaurants and great beaches. My husband and I always stay at Dee Jay's Beach Resort. The GREAT Staff (Maria and Marissa) make our vacation stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Sarah & Wes

The Dee Jay Beach Resort is located in an "excellent location", walking distance to restaurants and shops, and a few steps to the beach.  One has to agree it is an old establishment, however very well managed with a friendly staff. The Property Manager Maria, is an outstanding and remarkable individual. She goes out of her way to satisfy her guests.  She gives you a good feeling of wanting to come back, and most vacationers are repeats from years prior.  We've vacationed at the Dee Jay several winters now and always look forward to returning. Its a SCAM!! called to ask about apartment, told me there is 3 beds, lady asked me for the ages of the person staying there and how many people. After I booked she wanted to charge me 10 extra per ppl per night. SO WHY 3 BEDS in a 1 BEDROOM APART SCAM ALERT

This was my first time staying at the Dee Jay Resort, and what a pleasant surprise! The hotel is right across the street from the ocean, there's free parking, lots of patio seating, Spacious rooms with a full-sized kitchenette including, fridge, stove, microwave, sink, dishes, coffee maker, etc... It's a lot bigger than first glance, and includes four separate buildings with a small pool in the middle. Each room is actually like a small apartment which explains why a few of the guests I spoke with had extended their stays. All of the guests were so friendly! Was like a small community. This is a home style, friendly establishment, and definitely not a chain hotel. The manager, Mary, is always onsite to help you with any needs. Emphasis on NOT a chain hotel, so don't expect the regular amenities and cookie cutter decorations and furnishings. My room was decorated with vintage paintings. The bathroom was obviously original to the building(60's, give or take a decade?). And it showed. Fully functional, but not what you'd get with a chain. The kitchen had been renovated/modernized, and the tile flooring was definitely newer. Like any older building on the beach, you're going to have some moisture issues. The window A/C did a great job, though, and came with a convenient remote control. Did I mention Location Location Location?!?! Right across the street from the beach and a 15 minute stroll to great restaurants, shops, and outdoor events. There's also a trolley that will take you to the grocery store(stock your kitchenette!). You won't need a car. I didn't use my car The whole time I was here. Overall, you won't find a better value than this home style hotel. With super low rates and friendly atmosphere, you'll be happy you chose the Dee Jay Resort.

This place gave my mother the run around for weeks about which room and what price. When we showed up to check in for our 2 night stay (we just needed a bed to sleep in as my parents were on the water at a nice, but too small for us, place) Maria at the front desk was dying her hair. Really. She was wearing no shirt under a half buttoned up salon bib. Her bra was hanging out and dye was dripping down her face. Really that should tell you everything you need to know, don't stay here. The rooms have that urine mold smell, and the place gets broken into regularly (we only slept there, never left anything valuable when we left for the day). I will say that the bed was fine, the sheets ok, the bathroom decent enough to use but I think we were in one of the "nicer rooms". I would honestly fear for my safety in the ground floor rooms, both survival and health wise.
