Hotel Piz Buin

Polite and helpful staff, good rooms (great balcony!), ski/boot locker room, perfect location - very close to the A2 lift and a short walk to the centre of Ischgl. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return. Breakfast was nice, a decent buffet on offer; no complaints from us. We didn’t dine in the restaurant in the evening, only because we chose to explore the town - however most ‘restaurants’ in Ischgl are in other hotels anyway. You can’t go wrong with this hotel for a stay in Ischgl.

It’s a lovely hotel near the cable car. All the people working there are so polite and helpful. The food is amazing. We stayed there for new year’s and we enjoyed everything The rooms are very spacious and clean

First the adorable comments: + For skiing the hotel location is just perfect. Only in 3 min. walking you are at A2/A3 cabins. At the end of the skiing day, you are also just 2 min walking to the hotel. Super! + Nearby some bustling apre-ski places; mostly accomodating young/energetic people. + Hotel staff are amazing. Very helpful and solution-oriented family-team while being polite and professional. Unlike some other properties promoting "friendly" approach, which often yields to unprofessional, unpolite, schmoozing-like attitude, Piz Buin team knows what they are doing and they serve well! + Comy fooms: modern, mountain-chic decoration with sufficient space and simple-yet-useful elements such as storage space, hangers, heated ski-lockers, etc. Now the items which you migh want to consider before booking: - The location is relatively far to the commercial center (i.e. Silvrettabahn). Takes about 15min to walk or 3min by taxi. - Breakfast and half-board dinner is rather average, nothing sensational, for a 4-star S hotel. For instance, only one sort of cheese is on the open buffet; no wallnuts, almonds, various seeds for your yoghurt are presented on the buffet (if you ask for it perhaps they would bring it to you but at a 4S we would expect everything to be presented on the buffet). Dinner is also average; nothing like some other 4S hotels. - SPA area: nice for kids but only one massage room. If wish to have couples massage therapy, not possible simultaneously (rather surprising for a 4S). - Bar area: rather limited socializing space and ambiance. Although the bartender is quite helpful -and resourceful- the ambiance is not really stimulating and joyful -unlike some other 4S hotels. Yet good for those seeking calm bar atmosphere. Many thanks for the excellent service quality; we'd consider to be there again.

Clean and recently refurbished hotel, within 2 minute walk to ski lift. Staff very friendly, from bar to restaurant and reception. A little noisy as very close to the apres ski, but great location if that is what you are in Ischgl for.

Had never stayed at a hotel with half-board before but loved the experience here. The staff was very friendly and we socialized easily with other hotel guests dining near us - which added to the fun of our entire trip. Stephan the bartender takes excellent care of his guests. The food was very good and the rooms were nicely sized. My only complaint about the hotel in general is that the dining room and bar area were very warm. I would recommend other travelers plan accordingly - no heavy clothes or sweaters needed! Pack a t-shirt or two! Hope to come back soon!

Very nice, large room with balcony overlooking the river to the front. Very clean, well appointed bathroom. A bath shower but fully functioning. Dining was quite excellent. Had half board and had excellent food. Breakfast is outstanding. Dining room in two parts and was a little cramped in the brighter part. Pleasant bar - not large - but great for casual pre dinner drink and return from town night cap. Stephan who ran the bar was great. Gin and tonics to die for. Wonderful service in the restaurant (thank you Julia). Nice pool and gym. Very convenient for the ski lift - 100m away. 3 good après ski bars close by including Nikkis Studel in the basement. No problem with sound proofing thankfully as it can be full on. Ski room has lockers with heated boot racks and lockable cabinets so very secure. Intersport rental across the road. Short walk 5 mins + into town centre if you need, but you probably don't. Tuesday ski stunt and light show (highly recommended) just opposite the Elizabeth. Ski to within 100m. What is there not to like?

We stayed at Piz Buin for 3 days. The hotel is brand new inside and every thing is working fine. The sauna area with a small swimming pool is also good. The food is ok - but it is not a 4 star restaurant. The room for ski is small and a bit crowded - but it works ok.

I have been visiting this hotel early January 2016 with friends. It is recently refurbished with a combination between the traditional tirolean stile and modern facilities. Rooms are very confortable. Tip: the rooms at the first floor facing the river may be noisy due to the pub downstairs. If you enjoy the music and dans, go to the pub! If not, ask for a room on a different floor. A special mention for the the cuisine which was exquisite. The chef put a lot of passion in preparing interesting, refined good looking and very tastful meals. Congrats! Also, the welness area has a lot of interesting spots so one can enjoy easily one hour of relaxation, hidromassage, sauna, fittness, etc. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located just 100 meters from the main ski lift of the resort.

The hotel should update their website with new photos because the hotel is nicer in reality! A charming hotel with good facilities. Not many of the staff speak English, but you can still get by. The dinners were excellent, breakfast was good, the sauna is definitely worth checking out and the location is perfect. Request to the hotel to open the spa area earlier than 16h because not everyone skis.

I and three friends arrived in Ischgl without a reservation and luckily for us, the Tourist Information office came up with the Piz Buin. It is located very close to the main cable car and everything you need surrounds it. Ski hire/services and apres ski in abundance. We could only secure a single night stay. Both rooms were very comfortable and modern. The restaurant - in terms of food, wine and staff/service was very good indeed. We were persuaded to enjoy a fine wine in a 1.5L bottle. It was excellent. The head waiter then showed off a 3L bottle. They had only been able to secure two such that year, and only because the wine maker had stayed with them. We struck a bargain. If he could secure us two rooms for the following night (they only had one remaining), we would take the large bottle. The incentive worked. The following morning, the hotel came up trumps. The wine was excellent.
